What is the future of online gaming?

Just wanted to start a discussion with you all about the future of online gaming and where you see it be in 5 years’ time from now.

If we consider the rapid changes of Internet penetration on mobile devices, the huge role Social Media play in our lives, and the fast pace technology changes in the last few years where would you see the future of Online gaming?

Also taking into account the sociological changes occurring due to the advancement of technology, and the fact that more and more people are using their pc, mobile devices to interact in general with their community, to have fun, read the news etc where would you see the general casino industry as a whole? Would the entertainment become e-entertainment thus the online casino/ live casino industry further grow and outperform the real land based casino entertainment?

i think that mobile casino is the future
i know it already exists, but in my opinion needs very improvement, specially in have more games, and less bugs in some cases

I personally think if we see online gambling legalized that will bring about a lot more changes than any new tech advances. Maybe not actually with online gaming, but with the affiliate end. I think if the Vegas type casinos get into the online business that will put smaller affiliates virtually out of business.

I don’t like sounding pessimistic, but I don’t see how that can be denied. . Hell, the well known casinos wont even have to worry about Penguin 2 or what PR they have. With names like Ceases, Wynn, Bellagio, etc, once the words out that they have online gaming that has to hurt us, unless they too offer affiliate programs, but I don’t see that happening, not very good ones anyway.

Of course, then again with the big guys in the picture, wouldn’t it be ironic if BetUS, Sportsbook and a few others that totally stuck it to most of us started offering affiliate programs once again and maybe even get rid of the new BS quota terms that keep popping up. I guess it could be a mixed blessing, the big guys getting in the picture.

I agree with buddy m. Some of the big name Vegas casinos already have 'fun play', just collecting users on a list to wait for the announcement. I think a lot of the US future is very unpredictable.. Thankfully in this instance we move extremely slow over here

My gut feeling tells that me that if the 'Big Boys' hit the online gambling market in the US they're going to hit it very hard. I don't think they're going to make use of affiliates to be honest.

Players who wager at land based casinos can register accounts at the actual casinos themselves and then wager online using the land based casino's software. If casinos do follow this route (I hope they won't) it might spell the death knell for affiliates interested in the US market.

That only honesty and seriousness work is succesfully in the long run...

So from what i read everyone is concerned about the legalisation of Online Casino Gaming in USA and not all the rest developments. Any new developments in such a market will bring both opportunities and threats in my opinion guys; so it is up to each and everyone separately to try to develop his business model in such a way to take opportunity of any development he foresees in the market

It seems that i omitted to quote the changes occurring due to the legal framework being implemented in different countries at the moment. On the other hand it is a whole chapter for discussion on its own. Legal framework and the developments mainly in regions where there is no actual legislation in place are a significant game changer in our market. We could elaborate on that as well.

In my opinion it is not only the USA that will form the developments in our market; other areas where there is high penetration of Internet, decent financial situation and growth, and favourable legislation will be implemented allowing online gaming then these areas will offer significant growth opportunities to all parties involved in the market.

However to be honest i don't see these legal changes occurring very soon especially for the Online Casino sector!!!

On the contrary the technological, and sociological changes in our lives are occurring on a daily basis; hence i consider these much more important at least in the medium term.

They aint dying in Vegas and actually in some states land based casinos are growing. These land based casinos are run by Native Americans and they aint stupid. Not that all Native Americans are in the gaming business, far from it I'm sure, however to get the license in the USA and Canada I believe, it has to be from a Native American Tribe. As in Kankakee, Mohawk etc. I am sure these Land Based Casinos are gearing up, bitting at the Chops waiting to have Coctail Napkins and Matchbook covers imprinted with the nice new shiney url'l for their online casinos. The writtings on the wall. I aint saying we're dead in the water, the question posed was about changes, and while everyone is jumping up and down waiting for it to be legal, it wont take long for Vegas Casinos to stomp out the compition with their own online brands.

While I agree with your second sentence, I don't on your first. Most of you most likely have much more experience at the actually design and seo type stuff than I do and your right, those changes are exciting, constant and here today and will be here tomorrow, but I would guess when and it will become legal in the USA, the landscape of the discussion in these forums will switch from tech to Vegas in the blink of an eye, because that will bring about the most radical change our industry has ever seen. It’s going to be bigger than the millennium itself.

I honestly can't see online gambling dying. If anything, it's only going to get bigger. There is simply a lot of demand for it and too much money involved for it to just come to a halt. In the end, governments will either have to regulate it or fight a losing battle trying to put an end to it. New affiliate programs will spring up. Some affiliate programs will close or turn rogue. The commission structure for affiliates might significantly change over time, but the online gambling industry is here to stay.

I couldnt agree more about online gambling not dying. It will only get bigger. My point is if the well know Vegas casinos get in the online buisness what will that do to not online gambling, but the smaller affiliates.
