We promoted VS for a while, but the stats weren't what we had expected. This was before when they had that
crazy system where it would lock our account if we tried to access the affiliate back-end from outside of the country.

There are definitely some big issues with the VS affiliate program, but I think that we need to cut Mile's some slack. He just started over there.. and it's going to take some time to get things resolved. He's always been a stand up guy, and quick to take care of issues that we had over at Fast Track. So, I'm sure he will do whatever he can to try and resolve affiliate issues here.

I agree that Miles has been straight up in previous roles ... and a good AM at Raging Bull.

    But ...

There are clearly significant issues with the affiliate back-end at VideoSlots, and there are doubts that Miles (or anyone on the affiliate side) has the ability to get the organisation to give them priority traction. I have not worked with VideoSlots, and would not consider working with them until I hear in the affiliate community that this low priority approach has changed with tangible results.

Miles has been brought in to turn things around ... well one of the things that Miles will learn (and probably already knew) is that while a good AM can get the ear of affiliates it takes actual deliverable results / systems to get a poorly considered program turned around.

VideoSlots needs to deliver a better system, a better process, a more affiliate-friendly culture if it is to succeed - once I see THAT happen then I may choose to hop onboard - but NOT BEFORE.

Miles has already said (words to the effect of), he doesn't call-the-shots, so he can't force VS to change. What I find odd in all of this is... If VS are too busy with "other projects" to work on affiliate related stuff, why employee Miles?

Fast Track Affiliates needed an AM like Miles. He's one of a few AM's who is a straight-shooter.

Over and above this, what sticks out in all of this is, VS shouldn't have be to forced to do anything. And, "You can lead horse to water, but can't make it drink." Which brings me back to my question... Reiterating, VS are too busy with "other projects" right now.

So why employee Miles to turn the affiliate program around, when clearly Miles's hands are tied???!!!

I think they obviously hired him to turn things around. He is playing a little political here (guessing) so that we don't get too overzealous. I, personally, think he will get things turned around in our favor. I agree with you to an extent - but hiring him means something.

Thanks for all your feedback positive and negative just to be clear I was employed as a " Senior Affiliate Manager" I still have to report to a Head of affiliates as well as CEO,COO etc etc the usual company structure .

My role/brief overall was to come in and work with the Junior guys maybe pass on some knowledge a long the way and get them up to speed as to what is expected of a good AM which I think I am and have proven to be in the past.

The other side of things was to look at the overall program from an Improvement point of view from how we treat affiliates , how we communicate with affiliates and to how the program works or doesn't.

We as a Team have sat down and raised our concerns , shown the guys what we think needs to be done and given a list of priorities we feel are important to making sure the program becomes more transparent etc .

I cant force the Hand that feeds me that isn't in my brief but I am sure a lot of what we asked for will get done over time as the management are starting to take the blinkers off a little and have realized how important affiliates are to us and that more of our attention needs to be focused there and they have agreed to start spending more time and resources on affiliates and the affiliate department as a whole.

At the moment as I said there are "Bigger" Projects on the go like the Danish License, Romanian License etc and these are taking priority once these have been completed then we will be allocated more resources and our issues will be looked at in more detail.

I cant make promises and I'm not a soothsayer I cant tell the future I wish I could I really hope the community gets what you want and will try my hardest to aid in that where its possible. We understand its important to your business and I especially do just know I'm trying

That's a Pity as i really want affiliates just to hang in there .. we are working on things or at least trying too and yes all these things are being worked on we all agree and the new affiliate team and management agree with you we want a program that matches the casino.

If you want chat to your affiliate manager let him have a look at your deal and maybe they can restructure to suit you for now at least this is a start and you could see a bit more earnings.. but I firmly believe we are on the right track all be it a slow track to getting things worked on for the better .. Reconsider

There is no point in selling dreams that exist in fantasy land with unicorns and golden toilets.

Which means I am not a charity operation for programs that want to spoil players to gain good ratings and returning customers at (charged at) my costs to an extent that there is no reasonable bottom line in it for the affiliate, just signups etc.

"The casino converts well but there are hardly any profits / they are good for players" I hear this all the time from many affiliates.

The other point is, no-one minds the casino being good for players as that is obviously good for business overall.
But it's hard to believe so many players must be winning and cashing-out, resulting in very low profit margins for the casino.
Surely most of the cash-back and other freebies gets played back doesn't it? (It does on my player account!)
If so, these amounts should go back onto the NGR.

The ONLY way the affiliate program will gain credibility among affiliates is to be totally transparent and give them ALL the fees & figures, including the deposits and withdrawals. Then the affiliates will be able to see for themselves why the profit margins are so low (if indeed they are) and make a considered judgement as to whether they want to promote them or not.

Sorry to repeat myself, but when I stared promoting VS 2 years ago, all the figures (except withdrawals) were given, and things like the amount banking & licensing fees did make my hair curl - but at least I understood how the final NGR was arrived at.

The BIG problem... NO transparency for affiliates. It's smoke, mirrors, deflection and excuses.
    The 2'nd, are outlandish deductions...

Every single player at VS receives weekly cashback on their slots play. They advertise 25% on ALL spins. In actual fact though, when you crunch the fees...Yes players are hit with operational fees too...

    videoslots.com/casino-cashback/
    • Cashback is calculated on theoretical RTP minus operating costs
Hang on a minute, affiliates are also hammered for operating costs, are they not???

My point is, players are charged operational "costs" (no mention of what they are, or the amount). However these operational costs passed to players, must be pretty heafty, to turn 25% into 5%.

I remember when VS was trying to recruit affiliates, way back in 2012. They were offering 40% life-time rev share, over at CAP:
    casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/46871-new-cap-exclusive-40%25-lifetime-revenue-share-and-%80100-sign-up-bonus-w-videoslots-com.html

Again, it's ALL smoke and mirrors...

Yes it is a LOT of overhead.

    I mean seriously...
$4 to $15 per $100 deposited is what affiliates are getting. Dare say, the 4% is much closer to the true rev-share NGR.

    So to recap...
    • Players are getting HAMMERED for Operational Costs on their slots cashback - meaning ALL slots play;
    • Affiliates are getting HAMMERED for Operational Costs on their tagged players. The same players who are also being slogged operational costs on their slot play.
    o_O:confused::eek::rolleyes::confused:o_O:confused::eek:
Sure looks like someone is taking a double bite of the apple here...

Is this where, and WHY affiliates are earning sweet FA in commissions???!!!

I think we've well and truly established the fact, VS is beyond excellent for low/medium-rollers. And because of this, It has certainly sbeen FANTASTIC for Video Slot's and their business.

However, affiliates, well... Cannon fodder comes to mind.

@ Inspiration .. LOl Saddam ,Elvis and Pablo all had golden toilets one was the king and other 2 thought they were ..as for Unicorns you've stumped me there but according to my 2 little boys Dora has one if that's any good .. but this is all off topic there is no substitute for a good casino that looks after its players and pays them when the win etc .

When affiliates started out as affiliates the intention was to advise players of good places to play and give them advice on where to stay away from before it was a Money Machine and affiliates turned this into business this was your ideal and if you go back to these days you'd have suggested to play at Videolsots above all others purely based on what a player gets back from us as a player ..we can all agree and have done numerous times in this post ..

So lets put that aside with regards players because of course we want them to return and keep playing with us that's what keeps the doors open after all returning , depositing players .. reward them and they will play its simple philosophy which has stood this company in good stead of the last 6 years and wont change going forward for Players .. at least.

Regarding the affiliate program YES YES YES I agree with you all and have said so in my posts its not right there is missing information its not transparent I cant say that enough we are lacking in many areas but I'm not a magician and these things do take time to rectify.

We have raised it and will try get it sorted .. if we lose affiliates along the way because we have taken our sweet time about getting it done then we as an organization have failed and will have to accept that collateral damage.

The warning signs have been there for a while now and are getting noticed all be it Late and we don't want to lose affiliates at all but I can understand why you'd drop us from a business perspective Just know I am trying and we are working to get it improved .

I just know that the owners are trustworthy , Wont screw anyone out of what's due and the owners are listening to us ..

@ Aussie Dave I have noticed that also and have raised it with the HOD see if this is indeed true and if so it must get rectified but I cant comment on that for certain as I say I don't know the mechanics of how this works exactly ill need to leave it to the people that do.

@ Aussie Dave Regarding The cashback and your assumption regarding the double bite of the apple.

I can confirm after talking to the CEO that this is only deducted once .

When the affiliate calculations are done this is already taken into account and not deducted again .. and that as they say is Straight from the Horses Mouth
