Strange email from Intertops - Security breach?

I received a strange email from Intertops:

Dear SCOTT,

Thank you for contacting Intertops.

Upon review we noticed that there's an issue with the bitcoin address you provided.

Please respond to this email confirming if you know of any other person using the same bitcoin address

If yes, kindly confirm who this other person is and your relationship at your earliest convenience.

We ask that you kindly send the following:

- A picture of your crypto wallet showing your name

We ask that you please take clear, legible digital pictures. Please ensure that the entire document is visible (no portion should be cut off/cropped). Please note that partially cut off/cropped photos, will not be accepted and will result in delays.

This information is needed for additional security measures before future payouts can be processed.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

But my name is not SCOTT, and in general I am affiliate of Intertops.

And now I can't login to my Intertops Player Account (Error: Invalid username/password.)

You should reset your intertops password and at the same time make sure 2FA (two-factor authentication) is activated on your email account in order to prevent unauthorized access.

As far as I know they haven't had any security breach in the recent past.

Btw, that "picture of your crypto wallet" part was funny as hell, indeed.

This could easily be someone phishing for information that is not associated with Intertops.

Don't send them any information. If this really is Intertops, then they need to get themselves
educated about how it's not advised to provide any details to anyone about your BTC wallet.

Just send them another bitcoin address from your wallet for payment. Sometimes, the
affiliate programs do make contact if you update your BTC address in the backend.
They want to be sure that it was actually the affiliate that added a new address.

But given the fact that YOU cannot now login to Intertops it could be that someone else has and has changed your bitcoin payout address and your password - and this is a genuine message from intertops.

I'd immediately contact Intertops via previous contacts (not replying to this email address which might be a phish) and let them know your concerns and ask them to suspend all payments as a precaution.

Thank you for your confirmation!

This whole situation started when a customer of ours has provided a crypto address which has already been used for one of your payouts.

You understand that for us this is a major concern as we are handling customer’s and affiliate´s payouts with extreme care.

After an internal investigation we can with certainty confirm that the following has happened:

You and our other customer in question had a payout processed in the same bitcoin batch.

The customer has this way discovered your crypto address, which is completely normal since bitcoin operates on a decentralized and public ledger, and your payout address was in the first place of the batch in question.

He mistakenly then has provided the address for his own payout, by simply copying it from the block explorer (thinking that his own address was the first, when in fact it wasn’t).

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused, however all steps taken were in the interest of safeguarding your security and your funds.
