Never really had any issues with William Hill over the years despite a lot of people having issues, but had both my accounts closed down today. Anyone else culled?

Yes we just had our account closed a few minutes ago. No explanation.

We weren't even giving William Hill much exposure but still sent them a few players last month so it isn't down to minimum player quotas.

Section 10 of their T&C, Consequences of Termination : "For the avoidance of doubt, no additional payments will be due from WH to the Affiliate in relation to WH Customers who were introduced to a Site via the Affiliate."

Massive cash and player grab by sounds of it, zero communication. Got to be the worst rogue act I've seen in 20+ years in the business. We sent them hundreds of players who made nearly £1,000,000 in deposits. What a way to treat affiliates.

Wowser's, they don't give a fook do they, and have the cheek after closing 20 year old accounts to say if you wish to reapply.

The week before Cheltenham. 20 years of partnership, thousands of referred customers on revenue share. Endlessly profitable for William Hill. Theft of the highest order. I’m absolutely seething

For us not really a surprise, we stopped promoting WH a long time ago, except 888 is still listed but practically with low traffic. For the other colleagues who converted good earnings with WH, i'm sorry.

Update: we were sent our termination email by William Hill by mistake apparently. Worth double checking!

when you say mistake, are they saying it was all or have they still kicked sports and vegas UK?

We got this :

"
We apologise for any confusion caused by our previous communication. It was mistakenly stated that your participation in our affiliate program was terminated in full.

Please note that this termination only applies in part to the William Hill brand for Vegas and Sport in the United Kingdom territory. Your participation in all other brands and markets (including, for the avoidance of doubt, UK Poker, and other territories outside of the UK) remains active.

We thank you for your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Many thanks,

The 888 William Hill Affiliates Team

"

But as we only promote to UK and only promoted Vegas we are still basically terminated.

If this is some sort of mis-communication you'd think someone would be quickly clarifying TODAY. Seems like William Hill and 888 have dropped ALL affiliates today. Saying "it's just UK" is practically 99% of it

They're selling part of the business. This is SkyBet x10

William Hill the 2nd largest bookmaker in the UK by players. This is going to rock the affiliate industry

Whether they'll still have private deals with FootyAccumulators, OLBG, FreeSuperTips - let's wait and see.

They have the cheek to say it's just UK too and to keep on promoting rest of world. I don't think so! Affiliate program is DEAD. That includes Europe, Africa and any of their USA operations

What would really be a kick in the balls for these guys is for this news to get out to the stock market. Because, if they are selling their UK arm of the business, then a big drop in share price due to a new buyer thinking this part of the business may not be worth as much with zero affiliates going forward, could have an impact.

888 Holdings, who own William Hill, has seen their share price drop from 458 GBP in Sept 2021 to 84 GBP today. It's a company with a massive market share, that just can't make the business work.

Expect this move today is part of their wider strategic review which probably doesn't just include their USA business

bet365 must be rubbing their hands together and celebrating tonight.

Notably FootyAccumulators, OLBG, FreeSuperTips are all still promoting William Hill tonight. FST even have an exclusive Cheltenham offer. Expect these guys have been briefed on this smash and grab

And note, FootyAccumlulators did VERY well out of Skybet closing everyone else off. Now pretty much exclusively promoting them, having caused the collapse of Skybet affiliate program through faking bet365 bet slips on their Twitter feed at the time, leading Skybet to use the excuse of "regulation" in closing everyone else off.

Does it say anywhere in the T&C's (Rev Share) that once an affiliate refers a player (NDP) to XYZ, from that point, does XYZ the affiliate program et al owns that player, does it say that or anything like it?

Mrgreen closed the affiliate program in Denmark as well. Any brands related to 888 group should not be promoted by any affiliate as they will screw you over sooner or later.

If anyone is thinking of taking out legal action against William Hill and/or 888 then start making notes of who is still promoting them in the UK. Take screen shots, take URLs, note the pages in the WayBackMachine.

This will help you when it comes to their arguments in court regarding closing down affiliates on their UK brands when they haven't.

Like other brands, these guys are selectively keeping on the bigger sites and dropping/stealing from the smaller ones.
