After closing thousands of accounts 3 years ago they now think they can wipe the slate clean.

Betsson are doing it again! Change license in Sweden on 30/9 - 2026 and close all accounts to start fresh without affiliate tags on 1 December. Thanks for your hard work guys! But now we dont want to pay for old customers again.

From the email:

"Player Accounts and Tracking

As part of the migration process, existing player accounts will be closed.

Players who wish to continue using Betsson Sweden will be required to register a new account under the new licensed entity.

Please note that existing affiliate tracking and attribution associated with previous player accounts will not transfer to newly created accounts."

Given their clear history of scamming affiliates, if you send them players and get screwed over, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Yes it is a requirement but other brands have tagged the affiliate again. Its not hard they just dont want to. The new license will start 1 of October and the will start with affiliates again on 1st of december. I think the other brands Betsafe and Nordicbet soon to follow. Stay avay from all Betsson brands!

I also have had my players re-tagged in Sweden after the new license have been in place. So it is definitely possible.

I know heard that Casumo are doing something similar.
One player reached out and saying that Casumo has now cancelled all open bets and refunded the funds to the wallet. You don't need to do anything; we'll handle it for you. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

It's getting more and more difficult to justify rev share deals in Sweden, when so many companies just apply for a new license and remove the player tags. Even long before the license is about to end....
