During a routine check and review of our account with Rhino Affiliates, we noticed that our commission had been reduced to 10%... despite the fact that we had an agreement with them for a bespoke plan – a much higher rate – agreed upon many years ago and confirmed at conferences.
After contacting Rhino Affiliates (specifically Aleksandra, the affiliate manager), we were told that this was due to a failure to deliver the minimum number of depositors over recent periods, which allegedly stems from their ‘updated’ T&Cs, which are displayed on the website...
Key word: ‘updated’.
Firstly, our arrangements regarding the remuneration plan were not based on their general T&Cs, but on custom terms for better exposure and active promotion.
Secondly, even if there were changes to the T&Cs (the general ones), it would have been appropriate to inform the partner and discuss the changes. This did not happen; there wasn’t even an email on the matter.
Thirdly, any change in a business relationship must be mutual, rather than, as in this case, a unilateral change to the terms and conditions, and one made quietly at that.
In summary, we are very disappointed by this situation and wish to warn other partners to bear this in mind if they are working with, or intend to work with, Rhino Affiliates.
