Are those MG license fees not hidden in "deductions" with other programs ?
Not seeing it does not mean it is deducted from our revenue.

BTW Starpartner gave us an option to keep the old rev. share not ideal but not like the Ladbrokes did.

While other MG groups have not done this, there are other ways to save costs like untagged cross promotions etc.

Not choosing sides here but I know for a fact that GamTrak received atleast 3 emails regarding the new commission structure asking us to let them know which we preferred. Did any of you receive emails about the new structure before January?

I agree that they did a great job informing folks of the pending commissions model change at the time - wasn't saying anything to the contrary :) What I was saying is that not all affiliates read forums or get (and respond to) emails in a timely fashion. IMO - they should have wrote a little program that said.... ' If (affiliate_sign_up_date < Feb 1, 2011) do not change commission model' :) or something like that. Would have been easier and would have satisfied everyone.

Yes, some places may hide MGS fees in deductions, but there are few (as I recall) that pass along the MGS fees. Other softwares (especially in poker) it is way more rampant. I just think that passing along the 'cost of business' to partners is in bad taste.

Maybe I should pass on my marketing costs to affiliate programs? :)

See... It's not fair.

Microgaming Fees can include fees for giving bonuses to players, as MG charges the casinos when they do that. That is one of the reasons you don't see many ludicrous bonus promos at MG casinos.

The problem is that many affiliates do not read forums... and many do not look at their emails constantly. So - those affiliates got 15% without wanting it. Personally, they shouldn't have AUTO-CHANGED anyone's commission structure. That's predatory no matter how you look at it. Might be time to change their status based upon what I am hearing.

That would be me you just described. I never seen mail about this, nor seen this in forums until now. I'm shocked that they thought it was ok to imo retroactively change our commission structure to a shitty one, unless we asked not to be changed to shitty. Wow... This pisses me off.

OK, just thought i'd update you with this as it could be handy for a few people.

I sent an email to my affiliate manager there requesting my commission scheme be altered back to how it was. And received response that although i had missed the window of opportunity to choose my scheme again, that my commission scheme will be adjusted back to how it was prior to the change.

Luck of goodness to you all.

Honestly, that makes me feel WAY better about the commissions structure change. Good work Star Partner!

Immediately after I posted in this thread, Darren from Starpartner messaged me here and offered to see what he could do in regards to changing me back to the old model. As soon as I replied to him, he came back to me and confirmed that my account was changed back to the old model as I wanted. I asked if he could provide me my stats further back then what I could view myself. He quickly replied and told me he'd get that information from their tech guys and would try to have it by the next business day. I was very pleased to see that he followed through and had 2010 stats to current all neatly in an Excel spreadsheet in a timely manner.

I am pleased in his professionalism and swift actions in resolving this for me. Thanks Darren!

Commission was changed back to how it was originally including the month which i started this thread with (thank you Star Partner) and you can see the difference it makes to my stats.

I could be shooting myself in the foot by posting this here but for some reason now the commission is back to how i signed up with, there are no Microgaming Fees, and no Banking Processing Fees.

Casino(s) Income $157.00
Microgaming Fees $00.00
Banking Processing Fees $00.00
Carry Over $00.00
Charge Backs $00.00
Charge Back Reversals $00.00
Nett Profit $157.00
Commission % 27%
2nd Tier Commission $00.00
Commission $42.39

Honestly, as a new affiliate i wouldn't work with any program offering less that 20% on the bottom tier - it's simply not worth my while. I'm not sure how any affiliate could be motivated by earnings that low, without huge traffic you're never going to see a reasonable return on the time you've invested.
