Due to the increase in gambling regulation in the UK, we have decided to stop all forms of affiliate marketing on this particular market. The UK is not a core market for the company from a revenue perspective, but in order to be compliant with the UKGC, an unjustified amount of time and resources were being allocated to it. Hence, a proactive decision was taken to stop our affiliate marketing in this geo.

Friday 3rd May will be the last day in which the Hero Affiliates tracking links will track new UK traffic in exchange for commissions. New players from the UK will still be allowed to register on Casino Heroes, but you will not earn any commissions from them - therefore, you are requested to remove from your websites all reviews (with tracking links) and imagery (banners, pop-ups, pop-unders, etc) with which you are directly targeting UK traffic by this Friday.

For those on a revenue share commission deal: kindly rest assured that after this date the existing UK players you referred in the past will still be able to log on to Casino Heroes and play, and their activity will continue to generate revenue share commissions for your affiliate account.

We thank you wholeheartedly for the affiliate marketing efforts you have conducted in the past, and hope you can continue promoting our brands in other stronger geos, namely Sweden and Finland.

Best regards,
Hero Affiliates

UK is considered a weak market these days unfortunately due to over regulation, high taxes and a lot of bonus whoring.

I once applauded and in-turn looked forward to a truly regulated market. However, the UKGC has made a complete balls up of it.

So much so, operators are basically being put to the wall. Add in all the absurd compliance measures (the masses seem to have their enjoyment ruined by a small minority of people with gambling problems).

I'm sure in 2019/20 we'll see many other operators come to their senses. Its becoming unworkable as it is, and it's getting worse each and everything month. Think this is the start of an en masse exit on the UK front...

Edit:
Having witness both sides of the coin, and how it plays out. I've chosen to sided with 'grey markets'. Least when these operators say I'll get 30%, that's exactly what I get paid. Not 9% or something absurd.

I'm sure we'll see Sweden and Finland go the same way - just give them time, they'll screw it up like the UKGC has

Yes, every affiliate should stay away from the UK market. It's horrible, don't do it!

They way it's going, the same thing that has happened in Australia will happen in the UK. Operators will be forced to leave and the UK market will have to fight a black gambling market instead of spending all their time on ridiculous compliance rules. Seriously, what's going on in the UK with new compliance rules coming every month is a big joke. Essentially, a minority of problem gamblers are allowed to decide for everyone else, all you need to do is be as loud as possible. Imagine if we did this with everything a minority don't approve of. We would be left with no freedom at all.

Possible although UK are pretty strict and might be very forceful.

My guess is that we will have 4-5 big operators and the rest leave/close/sell.

It's bloody hell to try and stay in compliance with the constantly changing regulations.
