I wouldnt worry too much, Not like you can get paid anyhow and soon your internet will be locked into Russia only. I would be more worried about the retun of long porridge lines and extreme poverty along with the risk of WW3, promoting your casino business should be the last of your worries.

Firt of all - i am half Ukrainian, second - a lot of ppl Ukraine and Russia is mixed and everybody have a lot of friends inside both countries. Actually it's more like one country, than separate.

It's looks like CIVIL war, not like between contries and most of ppl dont understand this!

Europe and USA trying to show Ukraine like a completely separate and sovereign country, but it's not!
Saying it's not a sovereign country doesn't make sense. It is. It's its own country, with own government and own borders. They even say so themselves. Than all of former USSR aren't sovereign countries, in your opinion.

1. "Russians are responsible for what Putin does. They must simply overthrow him."

This is a very naive point of view because good guys win only in fairytales and Hollywood movies. In real world, powerful evil with resources always wins. Putin has amassed shit tons of resources, controls basically all media in Russia (people are getting indoctrinated for tens of years), and finally, he has immense oppression machine. Good luck overthrowing him.

To prove this point I have a few good examples. Why didn't Ukrainians overthrow USSR in 1918-1991? Why didn't Poles, Estonians, Romanians, Latvians (the list goes on)? Because they were not courageous and moral enough? I don't think so.

The Soviet Union finally collapsed and all people in Europe got freed not because they had been fighting for all these years, but because Soviet elites decided to make some changes since 1985. They went for liberalisation, which resulted in their collapse. They could have gone for North-Korean scenario easily. It didn't happen because we all simply were lucky.

2. "We can't simply watch how Russia kills civilians so we need to sanction them".

I mostly agree with this. However, Russian webmasters are not the biggest Putin's support base (to put it mildly). I would be surprised if he has more than 10%+ approval rating in this group. How can I be so sure? Well, I had been participating in the Russian poker community and I can tell that LITERALLY nobody supports Putin in this group of people.

So sanctioning Russian webmasters is really ridiculous.

P.S. It is funny how all these SEO companies/casino affiliate programs that boycott Russians, ALWAYS confiscate all funds, not freeze.

Even assets of all notorious Russian oligarchs in UK have been frozen, not confiscated.

So I am 100% sure that it is not about supporting Ukrainians, but about simply some opportunistic frauds stealing money because they have a good exuse.

At this point, I don't honestly care whether you think they do it in order to steal money from Russian affiliates or if they do it due to sanctions. All I know is that it has to be done and that it's also recommended by the UKGC. Casumo, as you know, is a UKGC licensed casino.

It sucks that those who oppose Putin are hit with sanctions, but this is war. Do you know what war means, what it looks like, what the possible international consequences are? Are you ready to die on some shitty battlefield in a WW3? If not, then these sanctions are our best bet. We can't cherry-pick which Russians to sanction or not, it has to be done 100% on all fronts for it to be as effective as possible.

Yes, Russians who oppose Putin may suffer because of it, but I bet the women and children dying in Ukraine are suffering more, and millions of more people might end up in graves unless we don't do this with full force. Pissing of a few Russian affiliates is a small price to pay.

Russia is heading towards North Korea status real fast. I truly hope the people of Russia manage to get rid of that dumb clown Putin and their totalitarian legacy so they can finally enjoy democracy and freedom of speech. They have been bullied, lied to, and oppressed for centuries now. This is their time to rise. Russia could prosper and become a great nation instead of being this backwards piss poor joke.

I can absolutely agree with many statements and have a certain understanding for the situation of the partners with Russian descent.

Some feel attacked because they are Russians and can do nothing for, and others have no understanding because the Russians are upset about this kind of treatment or discrimination.

It is therefore very difficult to do justice to all statements here.

Some members will not write here because they have a clear and unique opinion. And i also thinked about to write further or not.

This inhumanity and cruelty concerns us all but sometimes you have no more words, because this war and the situation are totally upsets.

We will not come to a uniform conclusion here because there will always be different opinions.

Whether Casumo acted in the sense of solidarity or just took the opportunity to get rid of Russian partners in order to steal or confiscate their earnings, i can't answer.

How solidarity acting other companies or it's brands ?

What i noticed is that on some casinos and games are pop ups showing, to support and respectively to donate for Ukraine.

Until now i have also read only one official statement regarding the war and the soldidarity for Ukraine, it was from N1-group.

We can only hope that this desaster will end soon and that the responsible Kreml minions receive just their punishment, equal on which way.

Casumo, as well as the rest of the industry, has LOADS of people from Ukraine working for them. Ukraine is huge when it comes to iGaming, development and tech. I know for a fact there are people at Casumo, other casinos and game providers who are personally affected by this and are in Poland now trying to help refugees etc. This talk about Casumo doing it just to "steal" money is ridiculous to be honest.

Those who supply wood, steel, plastic etc., etc., to gun manufactures, lets hold them all personally responsible, for all the deaths and injuries cause by guns. That's ridiculous!

But no more absurd, than Russian affiliates being held accountable for Putin's war mongering.

Just curious what happens if russian nazis and tsar use the missile weapon aimed against Australia? Just as their response to the Australian sanctions, which is definitely an unfriendly move against the "russian world".. That's really possible in the future. What do you say then?

I am a citizen of Russia. And I'm sure 100% that AussieDave won't say anything bad against me personally. He makes the difference between me and the Putin regime.

What Casumo do with this money? Sent to charity? No, Sent to UA Goverment? No. They found an excuse to steal them. Money go on their own pockets. This is all that we must know about this situation.

Ok boy, I hear you. What else could you say?? I don't even know where Casumo is based. Just watch out when you support russian economy and regime, and their next target is you and your home. Keep on supporting them and see where it goes.

Not sure what Casumo does with money but these are absolutely justified UKGC recommendations:
"As a result of the UK government’s further sanctions against Russia, the Commission is reminding gambling operators to apply a risk-based approach in any third party or business relationships they conduct, or customer relationships which are associated with Russia and any of the sanctioned individuals, banks or entities named."

Maybe people in Australia feel safe for now, but I can tell you the story is VERY different in Sweden, Finland, the Baltic states, Poland, Moldovia, etc, etc, etc. If Russia gets their way, they are not stopping here.

I think it will pe practically impossible or at least close to impossible to pay to companies based in Russia.

Like if all those companies pulling out in Russia are pulling out just because they're SJW's.

It's up to the West because if they decide to help in creating a no-fly zone over Ukraine, this would likely start WW3, see the image below on what Latvia says.

Russia will be, I guess, defending its interests regardless of what happens and be trying to prevent NATO expansion at its borders. So the only way to end the war is for the RU and UA to negotiate. Tomorrow 21/03 they are going to negotiate something again.

At the moment, UA looks like would be happy to be an independent country similar to Sweden or Finland, but they are asking for NATO protection in the event that they require it.

For Baltic NATO countries such as Latvia, the question is what would be their duties, in case a no-fly zone gets created, whether they would need to shoot down Russian planes attacking Ukraine in order to protect UA or fight Russia as well. In any other case, they feel safe, according to the Minister of Defense of Latvia Artis Pabriks. [source] . The source is in Russian but the website doesn't belong to Russia. There is full video transcription. Here is Deepl, in case anyone wants to read it.

Sweden and Finland are not in the NATO alliance so I don't see why they should be afraid of anything.

A risk-based approach does not mean stealing money by the first chance from anyone, especially your partners.

Casumo is simply hoping that the Gambling Commission will no longer fine them for social responsibility, anti-money laundering, and so on failures.

Never waste a good crisis..

I am really amazed that some affiliates here are defending this decision. We as gambling affiliates should stand together. I am pretty sure that the majority here are active in black/grey (US, Canada, Germany, Finland, etc etc) markets so most definitely not “government representatives”. So making RU affiliates responsible for Putin's actions is ridiculous. Just like nobody can make me responsible for the actions of my government.

Every gambling affiliate here will get screwed by some online casino one day, now its the RU affiliates time, next time maybe you, than you will understand how unfair this is.

As I keep saying, but clearly common sense is missing.

nobody can make me responsible for the actions of my government.

Exactly...

Agreed. I've seen the cries of injustice, from, just about every affiliate in this thread, when they've been screwed over. Just like what's being done to RU affiliates now. You'd think there would be a level of compassion, and common sense would prevail, and thus affiliates would have the backs of their RU peers. So I say to all those people who think RU affiliates should be used as scapegoats, one day you'll need these people in your corner. Lets hope they have short memories!

Russia has threatened Sweden and Finland not to join NATO. So, it's not a problem when a murderous dictator with nuclear weapons dictates what other sovereign countries can and cannot do? Putin is literally acting like Hitler. There is absolutely NOTHING to justify Russia's actions, however much you try. Attacking a sovereign country and killing women and children because Ukraine expressed a will to join the western world instead of the backwards clown Putin is disgusting to say the least.
