Hi Aeternus,

I would make any site in English compliant by UKGC rules and regulations.

Although you may not actively targeting the UK there is a strong possibility you will get spill over traffic and thus be in breach.

In addition to this the chances are regulation is coming to other markets, its best to be ahead of the curve and try to apply similar rules to all markets. This would save additional work in the future.

Best Regards
Sstephen

Does this apply always only to welcome bonus offers?
What about a forum like ours, there are posts with questions from members, promotions from casinos and and and.......

We cannot go and add terms links in every post etc.

Also about the 18+ logo, assume one sitewide on the bottom is enough?

Maybe we could start a new thread for questions to the UKGC rules?

So far, I am really confused, clueless......... dunno where to start and where this all ends.
Looks like this all will cost much much time for many affiliates.

Also, is it even worth anymore to get UK players? hmmmm ........

Another Question - if an affiliate adds a link to the terms and conditions, how will that track the players?

Casinos starting now to provide trackers for affiliates which redirect to terms pages.

In the email from Casumo:
Add link to Terms and Conditions (Media ID 7416)

I just received an email from Honestpartners similar to the one from Casumo. Also there, we can get links to terms in our affiliate accounts.

Well something I wanted already since long time. When I asked long ago some programs for such tracking links to their terms I have been told that this is not possible.
NOW since the UKGC says it is a must, trackers to terms pages are possible.

18+ Gamble responsibly etc is acceptable in a footer that is site wide.

Any time the welcome offer is mentioned and there is a CTA there must be terms to said offer at a maximum of 1 click away. If a regular poster makes reference to the offer you do not need to add terms.

Any questions we are here to help, a thread may help also.

Another good tool to use to those who are worried is the ASA, here the ASA will give you advice on what to change if you want to advertise in the UK in the correct manner.

The link is in both mails we have sent out over the last few days.

So it applies ONLY for welcome offer and not for any other promotions i.e. for existing players. promos like slot tournaments, or reload bonuses, free spins ........

Sorry, but for a forum this is really very very confusing and time intensive.
Hope we can get some more clarification.

Media ID 7416 links to an overlay of the terms and conditions, when they player X's off the overlay the sign up page is there. We built this with conversions in mind.

For any promotion there are terms, the key terms must always be available for players no more than 1 click away.

We are working hard behind the scene to make this easier for affiliates, in time this will become the norm and programs will have tools readily available to make your life easier. In the meantime playing it safe linking to terms at all times is what we are asking.

Media ID 7416 covers general terms and bonus terms, it also covers reel races. You should be linking to often.

One CTA - "play now" etc. (link to the homepage or similar)
One CTA - "T&C apply" (link to media ID 7416)

We appreciate your cooperation on this matter, it will get easier.

Hence, it applies to any offer with t&c applicable, no matter if it's a welcome offer or a reload bonus or "free" spins for a new slot?

This is to much to do on a forum and especially in such a short time. No it will not get easier, not for a forum with thousands of old posts. :(
Or does time and date on the posts matter? So that forums must only make their posts from now on how UKGC wants?

I would have no problem to make all new posts like the UKGC asks now ( although, how long will it take till the come again with something new and ask to add more stuff)

Once again.... actually I do not even want UK players.
thank you, but here is the thing, I dont want to advertise in the UK.
Must stop using english language then on my site?

I think it is not worth UK players at this point... So much work!
Yup! So what is the solution for forums and or blogs with many posts using english language?

Normally it should be enough if we just do not use Pound Currency and do not mention UK anyhow if we publish offers from casinos ???
It is not our fault if there is then still a player from UK clicking on our link and signs up at the casino..... ???

I am a bit confused, do these rules apply to all affiliate sites in english, or do they only apply to pages actively targeting UK traffic?

Let's say that you have a site in english, but UK or England isn't mentioned with a single word, do you still have to be compliant?

I believe that if it is visible in the UK, the rules apply, whether you are "actively" targeting the UK or not.

That's how we are approaching it, anyway. We aren't going to take any chances; we will make our sites fully compliant by the end of the week or we will block the UK from accessing our sites.

Still hoping to get answers what is with old forum posts......... thousands of them for many diffrent casinos.
Really , how should we do that if we need to add terms links in each and every post

As said, no problem to do that with new posts, but all the old ones......... this would be OMG!
Also hopefully the links to terms can be geotargeted ? It is odd if a visitor from another country click on the terms links on our pages/posts and gets terms for UK players.

or we will block the UK from accessing our sites

Maybe this is the best thing to do.

After rereading this thread, I feel so bad for forum owners -- this really has to suck for you guys. :(

I wonder if you would be in compliance if you were able to add something like "EXPIRED" in big red text at the top of old threads? I don't know if a mass update like that is possible (I have limited experience with forum software). I think the whole point of the new UK rules is to prevent people from being misled. If it is clear that an offer is no longer valid, common sense suggests that the website owner is not attempting to mislead the visitor. (This is just my own speculation -- don't rely on this as legal advice.)

Or, if you really don't want UK visitors to view your sites anymore, perhaps you could find a plugin and block all UK IP addresses from accessing your forums.

Good luck... what a mess.

Thank you Engineer,

in many of our posts like promotions from Casinos we have added a date like promotion is valid from .... until....
We also added many times most important terms, and posted "general terms and conditions apply" .... as said, asked long ago at some programs if they could provide us a link with our tag to terms pages - They did not want.

I am trying to check how many posts in english we have which need to be edited.

I will also ask a friend of mine if it would be possible to write some scripts for mass updates
(Although this is also not possible within a few days)

I will really need to think good over all this!
blocking the UK might be the easiest thing to do.
Maybe block UK, so we have time to fix all and reopen UK then again.

If other forum owners have ideas, solutions ....... please share.

I agree that the whole UKGC thing should have it's own thread, as it is a pretty big deal that really is affecting everyone with a website in english.

I can't see how I am going to be able to be compliant with all the rules, especially when it comes to linking to the T&C of every welcome bonus in a table or a widget. This potentially calls for a rebuild of an entire site.
