I was in your same situation, and was very close to dump them for good. I've had months with 5-600 clicks and not a single player but for the last 3 months I can get 3 or 4 new players out of 400 clicks and some commissions too.
I don't know the reason because I did not change anything on the website, the exposure is the same, the website traffic is pretty much the same.
All of the mentioned in this thread are good. You can add Australia and South Africa as good choices, but generally the casinos accept players worldwide. Each brand offers something different.

From my experience, it comes down to just trying each brand, and seeing what works for your traffic. Casino-A maybe kick-ass on Portal-A, but does nothing on Portal-B, even though both portals get similar traffic. As far as a time trial period, I always give each Brand a month's test. Anything less (imo), and it's too tight a window, to get any real stats from. Especially now with Google's dynamic alog
