which is better neteller or moneybookers ?

being new to all this, do people tend to use moneybookers and neteller as opposed to simple bank transfer?

With Web-Wallets you generally get your money faster.
Also, some companies have higher minimum payment thresholds for wire than for wallets.

Another thing to consider, is that some programs will only pay you in $US or €uro - so you'll get exchange fees if it's going into a £UK bank.
So I use Neteller for $ and Skrill for € - then if I want to play at casinos who take those currencies I don't get any exchange fees for depositing either!

Keep in mind though that unless you are a VIP customer, you will have to pay a couple Dollars/ Euros for each ATM withdrawal.
