This site casinobonus2 dot co is notorious for stealing our exclusive codes. then they have the nerve to request you not share their exclusive codes. I've emailed them and they just ignore me.

Again? Still scraping codes?
They don't work (tested, re-tested, tested again) unless you use our tracking links.

We got some new bonus codes for many casinos on 30 September.
My editor published them on 30 Sept around 08:00:00 AM (CEST) and 10:00:00 AM (CEST)... two hours later we found them on:

casinobonus2[dot]co
casinobonus[dot]code
newbonuses[dot]com
bigfreechiplist[dot]com (without "the")
thebigfreechiplist[dot]com (with "the")
thebigfreechipslist[dot]com (with intermediate "s")
nonstopbonus[dot]com

...and many, many more "scraping" blogs...

Please, stop this BS! It's becoming really annoying...

Saying "please" to these leeches won't help anything. The aff programs involved with these arseholes should start closing their accounts, but that is not going to happen anytime soon.

I'm just contacting AMs on that matter. Too tired, too annoyed.
And since we are in process to register our trademarks, I want to find something "legal" to protect these "things" too...

I know it's extremely disheartening to put work into negotiating a deal with an operator and then find your code all over the internet within hours.

I would make two suggestions:

1. Start making your bonus codes similar to your brand. For example your bonus code could be freeextrachips.com on your next deal. While the bonus scrapers will still use it, they'd be advertising your website by doing so.
2. Make sure the operator is tying the code use down to your affiliate ID only.
3. Inform operators each time an exclusive code is stolen.

The only way I managed to tackle this problem for TradaCasino was by terminating our agreement with one of the affiliates in your list, and with the others we negotiated a deal whereby they would never advertise codes related to TradaCasino without checking with me first, most times they check the code belongs to someone else, and they don't use it as a result.

Hope you get sorted, I know it's frustrating - it drives us crazy too!

Rachel.

Hello Rachel,

thank you for your suggestions.

1. Start making your bonus codes similar to your brand. For example your bonus code could be freeextrachips.com on your next deal. While the bonus scrapers will still use it, they'd be advertising your website by doing so.

Done. Most of our codes are "branded": FEC[+ amount or percentage], FXC[+ amount or percentage], FREEEXTRA[+ amount or percentage], FREEEXTRACHIPS[+ amount or percentage] and so on. Other codes are just simply my initals + amount.
They don't care about brands, personal names or whatever we write on site... they just scrape.

2. Make sure the operator is tying the code use down to your affiliate ID only.

Again, done. 99% of our codes we tested don't work unless you use our trackings. And again, they don't care even of "users experience" (bad user experience)... they just scrape.

3. Inform operators each time an exclusive code is stolen.

Again, done. We informed operators/AMs managers. Most of them are reluctant to terminate their accounts just because they drive a huge amount of traffic VS casinos... and here I don't want to add any comments ... link buyers, hackers, blackhat techniques... we would have to write an academic treatise against these crooks (and among other things they are also against many of the terms and conditions for many programs... immediate closure?).

They drive traffic, it's true... but with minimal efforts, since we work (hard) for them!
They drive traffic, we work... fair enough...

The only way to stop this is for the Casino to credit bonus code to the author.. but it will never happen whilst operators are happy to accept these sites it will always happen
