Alea Affiliates request TAX number to verify

Since yesterday 20th of July you can find the following message into Netrefer backend for Alea Affiliates:

Alea Affiliates - Netrefer Backend Message

Dear affiliate,

Before the end of this month, we kindly ask you to add your tax number (even if your business is not registered in Malta) and verify that your Affiliate / Company name matches with the name of your preferred payment method in your Netrefer account otherwise we will have to withhold the payment of your next commission until you have sent us official supporting documents.

From their terms and conditions: (updated 27/06/2019)

The Affiliate, acting within a business capacity, is required to provide the company registration number and a VAT number to the Company. Otherwise, the Affiliate is considered to be acting in a private capacity.

I have opened an account on the new Netrefer platform but did not get approved yet.

If you're not based within the EU, you don't need a tax number. Invoice effect will be the same, as no VAT is applied if you're based in Curacao, nor if you're acting as a private person.

it's normal.. if you are a EU corp taking eu payments then you need a vat number
