What about "flash", my Android can't handle flash content. Clueless to iPhone etc...

Just to clarify - the mobile algorithm update on the 21st April didn't actually penalise sites that aren't mobile friendly within the mobile search rankings , it just gave a ranking boost to those that were, so in effect ones that weren't just got overtaken. if that makes sense . I'm new here also - so thought I'd take this opportunity to say Hi from the UK!

In some of my major money keywords.. there are still plenty of sites non mobile friendly ranking in the top 10.. with weak backlink profiles and spammy content.. So i did not see much change.. I think it might affect certain industries more than others perhaps?

Cutts & Google don't like affiliates, full stop.

To add insult to injury, Cutts et al, has all but come out and said... G views "our" industry and its associated organic serps as, well, a waste of space.

Try getting assistance over at the Google WM Forums and mention your a casino affiliate. (Warning - wear a hard hat)... I recall some Level 9 twat over there, chastising me (I shit you not), claiming I was keyword stuffing (which I certainly wasn't). Took a look at his site (very old school) and, to say it was keyword stuffing, didn't even come close.

Cearly there's bias and discrimination within Google and not the good kind, at play here. ;)

So I agree different online industries are, imo, gauged and therefore ranked, by different G alog variables.

Edit: "Our" industry started out akin to the 'Wild West'.

Ironically while that's changed a fair bit, the serps and ranking within G, have adopted this "Wild West" mentality, go figure!

Off topic, but welcome Bobby :)

I agree with most and I do agree that Google and Cutts do not like affiliates. What is funny is that Google tries as hard as they can to be just that.... but hates us for doing the same.

I don't think so that it will make any difference on web based search engine results and as long as I know it doesn't effect on mobile search results too.
