One of the largest online poker sites Americas Cardroom is going to add support for a massive list of altcoins and tokens. One the one hand one might ask if anyone even uses these coins/tokens for anything at all and on the other hand with this action they have suddenly given over 60 projects real life utility. Let`s take a look at what this means for the coins that are now accepted and for crypto projects that are working on decentral solutions for betting as well as existing bitcoin casinos.

I think this has big implications for the gambling industry if they succeed. So does Theo Goodman, the quote above is from his Medium article posted today.

Some things worth considering:

1) WPN was the first mainstream offshore poker site to take bitcoin. It only took a couple months for their competitors to begin following suit.
2) WPN is currently tied for being the largest offshore poker operator
3) WPN is normally in the top 5 or top 10 largest networks in the world depending on how everyone's traffic is playing out in any given month.
4) Wider adoption of cheaper, faster, private alt coins could bring in a different class of customer, a pure gambling newbie. I saw this first hand years ago on Seals With Clubs, the very first bitcoin only poker site. There were "rich" crypto investors playing cards who had zero clue what they were doing... it was great.
