I'm sure everyone will have their own opinions as we all make money from different sources. You might even make money from the rogues and theives as sometimes if they like you they can fiddle the revenues in your favour to keep you interested. I've certainly seen this before, or fixed fees thrown your way to keep you happy. If a brand is dodgy in your opinion, take their money. Ask for a fixed fee in return for ad spots.

I used to question everyone I worked with, but you'll get a feel for it. Don't spend too much time on ANY advertiser that isn't returning you money. Give them x clicks and see if it converts. If it doesn't, move on.

As a general rule I don't work with ANY affiliate programs based in Israel. a) because a lot of programs here have a history of fraud and b) I don't like the way they do business - too pushy, too short sighted, lack of reliability, communication, loyalty etc

I would work with big brands to start with. Think to yourself every time a small brand approaches you and wants to "give it a few months", that you might just be wasting time and revenue in promoting anyone.

This is shiowing a worrying trend as Skybet did a similar thing last year, this worries me very much but then we do not like working with Willy Hill due to issues with them over the years.

Something not quite right with SkyBet. Staff left when the investment company bought 90% of the company. They're just in it to strip it and make a quick profit, while the brand and affiliate program suffers. Would not be surprised at all if SkyBet is re-sold to someone else in the next 12 months as the investment company pulls out and either takes its profit or takes a loss on an investment that it screwed up on. Let's face it, pulling your sign up bonus in the 2 weeks run up to Euro 2016 and screwing affiliates down to 5% rev share on an FTD target shows zero knowledge of how to operate in the gambling industry.

Very true that, as soon as I heard about the minimum 6 FTD's they were removed because if they move the goal posts one they'll do it again and again. Thieves.

I posted this on The Pogg message board as they have just opened a Affiliate mediation service. The money I can live without, but I do get a bit wound up when I am lied to and stolen from. Thought I may as well paste it here too for your amusement...

Hi Duncan,

I am just wondering really how you would deal with Affiliates United?

I think we all know about their reputation so I don't really need to go into anything like clicks and sign ups not being registered.

However we are on a CPA deal with them, minimum cumulative deposits $30 CPA $200

Finally a registration showed up in the system and said they deposited in May. They also deposited in June.

Now obviously the stats are missing lots of key data as we would expect from CPays/AfUtd. Completely unreliable. But at the current exchange rate the player would have had to have made only 2 single deposits of £10 to fall under the CPA trigger point.

Todays exchange rate:

10.00 GBP = 14.7076 USD

That is a hell of a lot of activity for two deposits of a tenner!

To cut a long story short, is there any point in going to the UKGC or Gibraltar as I live outside the UK?

What would you do? Quite frankly I like so many other affiliates am tempted to just say sod it, live and learn. The money is not the issue here though, it is the principle. And if they have shafted us on this one example and I have had test registrations from outside my country not show up in the stats before... so just how much have they stolen from us over the last 18 months?

What is your advice Duncan?

Thanks Matt
