Why it's so difficult for gambling websites to get backlinks from non-gambling domains?

Although I am a gambling expert (gambling math and problem gambling), I don't know much about gambling SEO. Me and my team manage a reputed website related to gambling, but not offering any games/casino. We are asked frequently for selling backlinks to casino sites, which made me posing the question in the title. This of course assuming that those coming to us are refused by non-gambling websites of a higher authority than ours.

I don't think they're necessarily refused. They're probably looking for a diversified backlink profile and need links from both generic sites and industry-related sites.
There are mainstream sites that do not accept anything related to igaming. Usually, they take this stance not to get connected with igaming in any way as mainstream advertisers do not like to buy guest posts on 'mainstream' sites filled with gaming articles.

IMO, There are 3 main reasons why non gambling domains would not want to do business with gambling related domains:

-For ethical reasons as a lot of people find this industry offensive
-Readers of the non gambling domain can find it offensive
-A lot of webmasters think that associating their business with gambling will give them seo penalties or give them a bad repuation in the eyes of search engines

Good point(s). A counterexample for the third argument is our site, which is dedicated to gambling studies.

It's not difficult.

Well yes, it is if anyone is looking for links for 'free' (ie to content that is worthy of a link without financial recompense or other incentives). There are many (obvious and perhaps not so obvious) reasons for that.

But there are tons of ways to get paid links from non-gambling sites to gambling sites/pages.

I'd suggest 90%+ of them are likely pointless and worthless, but it's pretty much impossible to prove that with any absolute certainty (other than doing it with some gusto and seeing no positive results, of course).

There are several reasons why gambling websites find it challenging to obtain backlinks from non-gambling domains. Firstly, gambling is a highly regulated industry in many countries, and some websites may be concerned about legal repercussions for linking to gambling sites. Secondly, many non-gambling websites may simply not see the relevance of linking to gambling sites and may not want to dilute their own content with links to unrelated pages. Finally, there is a stigma attached to the gambling industry, and many websites may not want to be associated with it due to moral or ethical reasons.

Been playing around with GPT the past few days, so it sounded really familiar.

Don't quite like it for it's writing (Used it for a testimonial :D), but it has helped me a bunch with CSS. I can just give it the selectors and it will write up the code neatly, there are probably good tools for that already, but for a casual it's great. I also use it sometimes when google search fails me.

It is very easy to get those links if you pay them enough :)

pretty fun))
This is my real name, and my comment is written solely from what I read on the Internet)
Do you think that ChatGPT takes information from the sky or a black hole? No, this is all the Internet, and if you think that my comment is plagiarism, then no, I just don't see the point of inventing a bicycle if it already exists)
And also, I am really good at searching for information on the Internet)
