Symptoms
Account lockout policies being reset automatically.
Certain Microsoft Windows services such as Automatic Updates, Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), Windows Defender and Error Reporting Services disabled.
Domain controllers responding slowly to client requests.
System network becoming unusually congested.
Websites related to antivirus software becoming inaccessible.

It is said that this worm will receive instructions to go off and do something on April 1st, and may disrupt the entire web. Read the articles, get virus scans and protection!

Thanks Dom,

I heard about this on 60 minutes last night and it sounds pretty scary. Considering the bank account / private information accessibility threat as well, this has to be the worst threat to date in relation to security on a PC.

I saw this on 60 minutes too, pretty scary stuff. I followed universals advice at gpwa and made sure I performed the most recent windows updates and also made sure my avg software was functioning correctly. Hopefully this virus will not affect any of us, I couldn't imagine what a nightmare it would be dealing with it.
