Hi! I just became a part of this forum here and I would love to be a part of it. I love contributing to the community.
I can probably add some humour to start with. Here are some funny stories that I read somewhere.

A patient comes to a Dentist with a tooth pain.
Dentist : Two of you teeth are infected and we need to extract them.
Patient: How much will it cost?
Dentist: Seven hundred and fifty dollars for both.
Patient: What? Seven hundred and fifty dollars for 10 minutes of work?
Dentist: Well, if you like, I can pull them out slowly!

Here is another one:

Husband and wife have just left their home for camping.
Wife: We should turn the car back! I forgot to turn off the gas stove and it might burn our appartment!
Husband: It's okay, the apartment will not burn, I forgot to turn off the shower.

The last one:

A trial is in progress in the court room.
Lawyer: Your Honour, if a person has 18 criminal records he is not a criminal.
Judge: Then who is he?
Lawyer: He is a Collector.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it.

This will be your only warning. We would love it if you actually became part of the community... but cloaked spam will not help you with this.

Andy,
i do not envy you for having o filter spam. I experimented with an article exchange forum (based on VB license) and I had to spend progressively more and more time weeding out the spam.

It seemed that if one or two spammers got a link in, they poured in at overwhelming waves.. I had to just shut it down. It simply was not worth my time. I learned that spam is the number one threat to forums.

These spammers are getting better at cloaking links in threads. The really devious ones post without a link like this one.. and then post more generic threads, trying to build up post counts to then place a sig in them.

Good luck Andy.

You are exactly right... they come in with different user names, post things like: 'nice post', 'way to go', 'you are right!', and other crap like that. LATER ON, they come into those same posts and put in their links.

It's a pain in the butt to find them, actually. I typically ban those users from having the ability to post links all together.
