The difference between "-" and "_"

Ever wonder which is better for SEO, the dash: - or the underscore: _

Here ya go: Underscores vs. dashes in URLs - YouTube

Basically the underscore keeps terms separate but when indexed it is considered just one term.

ie. Play_School is indexed as "Playschool"

where as: Play-School is indexed as "Play School"

in the eyes of the algorithmic monstrosity.

Chew on that spicy drink for a Sunday snack and don't forget to tip the bartender.

Thanks @muffincrumbs. This is a good post, I have been wondering how google uses these symbols and also the advanced operators which I do not understand.

The question is how can a webmaster use these underscores in their website posts and not make the post look funny?
