Sudden Affiliate Program Closure

Hello,

I have noticed an increasing volume on programs closing down.
New owners usually take over and they have no accountability about the old ones.
But all the old players that i have already sent are gone....
So i wanted to ask the forum if they face the same issues and if so, which programs are these?

What if a brand starts to accumulate debt, then they sell the brand to the new ˝owner˝ and the new owner leaves the old debt to the old affiliate program and runs the brand further on with a new aff program? Its a shady world we work in..

yeah exactly.. happens too much lately

Yep... Feels like new programs which emerged in the past 3,4 years turned out to be super unreliable...I've noticed this "trend" too

What I try to do now is only work with programs that have solid reputations and long history, or at least contracts in place. Also keeping closer communication with the affiliate manager helps to get heads-up if ownership changes

Noticed also that if affiliate managers are not active, there is a higher chance that the program will close
