Hi Mike,

Slots Guide no longer exists.
Yes No Casino is the future now, a lot of hard work has gone into transforming SG into a new, slick grown up website. I would say "never say never" about letting Yes No go but at the moment it is still growing at a hefty rate so placing a value on it right now is impossible and I am certainly not actively seeking an exit strategy. Silly money offers only right now.

By all means not a problem:

1) I didn't sell because the only offers (€40k and €92k) were below the asking price at the time.

2a) The .eu domain was off putting,
2b) The - in the domain was not ideal,
2c) I felt that the website is more a casino guide than a slots guide so the name change allows me to fucus more on what we want to do rather than feeling pressured to review every slot that comes along,
2d) I needed to add an ssl so doing it in maintainance mode on the new domain was perfect,
2e) I needed a new website structure and to do a lot of page/post/content/CTA tweaking so again maintainance mode was also the best way forward,
2f) I have bought more domains that fit in so Yes No can become a real network in the future.

For anyone stuck with a domain they are unhappy with, from my experience changing domains is a lot of work if you want to do it right but it gives so much opportunity to "put right what once went wrong" (cigar and banana to the first person to spot the tv show from that quote). Initially traffic dropped by about 50% but within a month it was back to where it was before and after 3 months there numbers are already well above what they ever were on SG and Google isn't even finished with the migration on their side yet. Visitors are also preferring the new website over the old one.

So done right a properly thought out migration can be well worth it. As long as you are ok with losing a few months of website expansion / content creation in order to do the migration properly it is worth weighing it up. For a more established website it might be a gamble too far though.

Quantum Leap :)

Thanks for your post i am no good with all this tech stuff wish i was. Is it worth to start learning? I guess that will be a yes. And i really need some seo and website training. I have always tried to just stick to make articles and interesting promotions. But nothing like inbound links and all that seo juice.

I think seo is definitely something to look into. It has never been my primary goal though, writing good, honest articles is main main focus as well. Give readers hopefully what they are looking for.

In our industry there are a million generic websites writing the same stuff and I do think Google appreciates the exceptions who have their own voice.

You did a very good job on the transformation, the new site looks amazing!

Very clean layout, readable, easy to navigate. Do you do side work lol?

Is there an area where I can select Yes or No on a casino? When I heard the name, I assumed it might be something like HotorNot, if you can allow users to simply vote "yes / no" on a casino, that would be fitting for your name :)

Thanks Ryan,

The site is still far from done as there are a lot of lezs dramatic improvements planned. Some ttextual and some design tweaks.

But your idea is very good and something I am looking into for a future upgrade. I looked at it a while ago but there was too much other stuff to do which took priority. Getting user feedback is something that needs to be done right rather than rushed into.
