Sick and Tired of Seeing My Advertisers On Illegal Sites

I'm sick and tired of seeing companies I advertise throw out pop up ads on illegal sites like football streaming services based in Russia. How can you compete with sites that are popping up and setting cookies on literally millions of people every day, when you're legitimately trying to refer a hundred clicks or so, when your cookies just get overwritten by these illegal sites?

I've seen the following sites pop up from streamhunter eu for example:
bet365
Ladbrokes
William Hill
LSBet
BetFred
888
titanbet
BetVictor

How is an honest affiliate supposed to make a living when these guys are buying pop ups in their millions on illegal sites? Someone should report these guys to the authorities - it's as bad as hacking, they're effectively supporting illegal criminal gangs that are making millions out of the illegal streaming of soccer games

I mean, I'm with you. It's frustrating, but that's the benefit of having massive traffic.

Yes, but these guys have massive traffic through promoting something that is illegal i.e. copyrighted, yet all the advertisers don't care where the traffic comes from.

Eventually the industry will canibalise itself - the illegal sites will be more controlled, advertisers would have priced the small affiliates out of the market through supporting the illegal sites, and then they'll have limited people to advertise with. Take the illegal torrent sites - many are now blocked through ISPs in places like the UK, effectively limiting access to them.

I wonder what the authorities would think in places like the UK if any of the above advertisers, who hold UK licences, were reported for doing deals with the illegal streamers?

When BIG Brands with a long established history are now happily supporting hacking and other scallywag behaviour, then clearly their ethics have gone out the window. More than likely if these Russian sites are canned, then they'll just find another way to cookie stuff and cut their loyal affiliates out of the equation.

It would be an interesting discussion to have with Bet365 account manager - as I know that THEY think that their own live streaming service within the Bet365 product is a real differentiator. I am not sure that they would approve of this action or association. Is your AM talkative?

No point in my discussing with my current bet365 AM - she's only really interested in posted the weekly promos and yapping on about their live streaming and how we should promote it more - apparently that ticks the "development plan" box in a performance appraisal - and seems to struggle whenever anything is asked about stats, specific banners or anything about the business. Or else 2 weeks later I get a generic "there is nothing I can do response".

If she deals with the casino arms also, then probably the same AM I dealt with. I too would get the delayed replies, only to receive an identical response. Most frustrating after a while. But a ducks a duck, no matter how it's dressed ;)

Bet365 is probably the biggest popup annoyance, not just on sports streams but every stream from series, movies torrents.. the market is completely covered with their ads..

Surprising really as they're probably the most respected company in the industry, yet they're probably having to lower themselves to the common level, buying pop ups in their millions from various marketing companies. To be honest they have lowered their standards in recent years and run the risk of losing affiliates if people can't compete with the millions of cookies being dropped by illegal sites.
