Search Fails and I Suffer

Hey guys,

I got back from Vegas to be greeted with 1/2 of my good traffic gone and this nice looking error on webmaster tools (attached)



This happened once before, but the ranking basically stay the same through it. This time however, this error is directly correlated, as per time, with a decrease in my SERP presence. Oddly, the structured data testing tool shows it to be fine, only missing the normal HAtom entries that don't do anything unless it is physical goods on your site.

As far as I can tell, my picture remains on the results pages as well.

To be at the mercy of erroneous data like this, and have it effect (assuming) your positioning when all you do is write original content day in and day out is an outrage and frankly... I am sad and pissed off.

It looks like there was a fairly significant update (unconfirmed, but the serps have been pretty heavily shaken - check out the mozcast for the 20th) that happened over the weekend, so there's a strong chance the drop in rankings is actually to do with that rather than to do with your markup.

Yeah that is the most likely scenario since it was only a drop, not a cliff dive. Thanks for the link baldid.
