Which conferences would people recommend in the year. I went to the London conference for the first time thanks to your recommendations, but what others would you recommend and why? or even recommend I don't go to?

In my experience none apart from maybe Amsterdam.

I always leave disappointed in the lack of competence of these people with the exception of one or two.

I used to only do London, and the occasional others.
But for the last 3-4 years I have been to London, Amsterdam & Malta every year - and always enjoy them.
I can't say they are the best - 'cos I don't go to any others!

Why Amsterdam? The city is nice, but when I was there the conference seemed small compared to London, so it seemed like a waste of time for me.
If I could chose only one, then I'd go to London, because it's the biggets one.

I liked Amsterdam because it was smaller, managed to get round all the people I wanted to see.

London’s carnage in my opinion

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. what strider1973 said does make sense. Also are there any other conferences apart from IGB and the one in Malta?

It depends on what you're looking for and if it's pure business-wise or also a fun-part.

Sometimes I attend events that are held in cities I never was or cities I like to visit, but not because business-wise it's very interesting.

It's also a difference if a conference is an hour driving away or 10+ hours flying.

I'd say Sigma Malta and ICE/LAC are the most interesting. All others are way less interesting. Amsterdam is way smaller and held during holiday times. Lisbon is too close to Malta. Stockholm perhaps is just interesting for Scandinavians.

All other, smaller events are not worth it in my opinion.

The one in Lisbon last year was really small - one better go to Malta in less than month. But the weather and the city (Lisbon I mean) are nice and it's cheap.

If you're operating in Europe, there are two you should attend every year: LAC and SiGMA. Others are more if you also want to have a holiday.
