Several gambling operators have publicly criticised a new set of proposed player‑protection rules in Finland, warning they risk driving players to unregulated black‑market platforms. The consultation, launched on 30 January by the Gambling Risk and Harm Assessment Group under Finland’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, includes ideas such as a single loss limit across all licensed operators and stricter controls on deposits, play time and cooling‑off periods. Operators including SkillOnNet and Wildz Group say overly rigid limits could weaken channelisation to the regulated market and deter players from licensed sites. Critics argue the focus should be on tackling illegal activity rather than imposing excessive restrictions on legal operators.
