The new legislation was years in the making and was definitively ratified in April. GluNeuRStV brought a wide range of player protection measures, max single-stake slot threshold, complete ban on live dealer online casino games along with mandatory cooling-off periods while limiting punters to a maximum of €1000 monthly deposits.

The newly introduced 5,3% turnover tax on online poker and video slot stakes has prompted separate lawsuits from the Deutscher Sportwettenverband (DSWV) and the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) industry representatives.

What an incredibly silly legislation. Just unbelievable. Why on earth would any german player ever choose to play on a German licensed casino with those rules in place, which also results in them getting 85-90% RTP games lol. Just avoid it and find some decent offshore casino instead.

This is bad, like, really bad... Coming from the crypto sector, I am definitely not against regulation to a certain level but this is awful.

I wonder why they decided to ban live dealer games. Anyone have more details about this?

Every company interprets german regulation differently.

It's totally absurd what's going on here and also completely incomprehensible how the legal departments of the companies deal with it and decide.

The whole contract is a joke, because it is all about that the state earns still more from the losses of the players. The alleged player protection is just a pretended reason.

The absolutely joke is that german players will excluded from some curacao licensed casinos although they don't follow german rules.

e.g. Playtech - they support player protection and therefore they no longer offer their games in germany. Who should understand?

I don't mean to insult you, but a question like this, I'd expect from a newbie. Certainly not from a CEO of a gambling site (who has 18 employees including a CFO - goodgameltd.com/team/). I'm sure if this question is really important to you, someone in your staff would know or could research it ;)

Edit:
See this is exactly what gets right under my skin. Here we have a CEO of a gambling site, who, has 18 or so paid employees. This same person sits on the AGD Certification Team, and votes on which casinos are trustworthy for affiliates like myself (1 person operations) and others.

The requirements that we, small the medium sized affiliates need (not want BUT need) going on what get approved and what doesn't, seems so out of focus with our 1-person affiliate sites.

Reiterating, it's nothing person, it is however 100% business.

99% of the AGD member base are small to medium affiliates. We generally do everything ourselves, or if we employee someone, then, they're likely writing content for us.

We do not have the luxury of 18 staff members. Having to support that type of affiliate operation, requires a completely different business plan, to what myself and most other AGD members require.

Hence this is why you can't help any of us, we all on different pages, with different needs.

I was always wondering if there could be more stupid regulations from UK ones. Yes, new winner! o_O
Let's bet on next geo who will create even worst rules.
Mandatory cooling-off periods? 1k per month is a joke i guess. Nice humor there.

I think he knows the answer but drops these types of questions here intentionally to kick off the discussion regarding the subject. In other words just to keep the thread active.
But I may be wrong.

Sorry, 5.3% tax on wagering?
How the hell someone can apply a tax on non profit?
Example: A player deposit 1k, wagers 100k, wins 5k.
Casino will pay 4k (the winnings) plus 5.3% tax on 100k?
