Long story short...

Been targeting AU traffic for years and for all that time using .au TLD's. However, I want to go back to using .com TLD's because just targeting AU is becoming thin these days.

I have a couple of really-old (10 year +) .com domains, would it be a beneficial decision to change my .au sites over to using these aged domains or would it be better to use the .com TLD's I have registered for the current .au domains?

Difficult to say without actually knowing the domain names. I'd probably go with the
domain that best describes the web site, and appeals to a global audience. Discard any
domain names with the term "pokies" or other regional casino terms, that might be
confusing to players in other regions of the world that aren't familiar with the terms.

Definitely wont be using anything with "pokies" in the domain. In the USA pokies refer to part of the female anatomy & usually when they're cold :D

lol. I would, however, leave pokies in the content if you are moving a current domain. You can always put a dictionary overlay in there so that hovering pops up a definition :) I know what you mean being in the US... that term drives me nuts. ha ha
