Maxmind and OpenX

Is anyone using the Maxmind database without OpenX? In other words you did all the programming yourself.

If so, were you required to use something other than .htm pages? My fear is that I will need to switch from .htm to .aspx or whatever. I realize I could .301 but just curious how you pulled this off.

If you are still using OpenX, how is the pricing since OnRamp is now gone.

I'm pretty sure Engineer is using Maxmind without Openx via programming.

Yeah, I use Maxmind without OpenX.

Every few months, I download the entire free database and upload it to my own MySQL database. On pages where I use geotargeting, I use PHP to access the database and do what I want to do. You will need to have some programming and database skills to do this.

If you can't do it that way, Maxmind also has a javascript API that you can use, which looks pretty slick. There are examples that walk you through the different options. Good luck!

I looked in to this a few weeks ago.. I bypassed all the hassle of maximind etc and went with adbutler.com instead - seems to work pretty well and cheap enough!.
