Matt Cutts Has Declared Guest Blogging For SEO ‘Done’

Google has been warning webmasters about guest blogging abuse for years now. This week, head of webspam Matt Cutts basically declared guest blogging dead. Have any of you guys been doing guest blogging and what results you have achieved from it?.

Will you be still using it with a different approach like say, using no follow tags etc.

Let me hear your thoughts on this.

Matt Cutts seems to get some sick pleasure from throwing out red herrings. I'm not saying this is one of them but if what he claims is 100% Kosher, then it should also influences the verticals and niches we target. However this is not always the case. If things were working as he claims, then the web-spam and blackhat in gaming wouldn't work. However it's flourishing.

they said same for press releases and lot of other things, anyway for me guest blogging is not dead for authors that are popular, just it is dead for the spammy link building blog posts that's it. So I do not think there is game change just be more careful what you do.

Yep, Just as they say about blog comments. I use blog comments to rank a keyword which stood strong despite all the animals they threw at it.

I remodeled an entire site once, based on what Cutts was claiming. All my work, time and following Google recommendations amounted to tanking the site and personally escorting it back to the stone age in serps.These days when he says A, I go Z

I think that if you read between the lines, what he is saying is that Google doesn't like crappy links from crappy sites. So nothing new there?
