Hi All,

Received spam from a casino named Majestic Comet. Never heard of it. Turns out to be a Playtech operating out of Cyprus.

Strike 1 for the spam.

Probably not a good sign considering Greece's economy right now.

I checked out the T&C's...Get this...lol

That's got to be one of the lowest max withdrawal thresholds I've seen. Even $hit hole, clip joints like Virtual Casino Group have higher withdrawal limits.


That's worth 2 strikes and it's game over for Majestic Comet Casino.

And if I am, surely Playtech wouldn't allow a licensee to limit withdrawals of progressives as it isn't the licensee's money to start with.

You're right, though, Majestic Comet (ugh, another bad name) is definitely one to steer clear of.

No, that is an almost standard Playtech casino term - but usually it is $£€9900 per month. eg from randomly picked Playtech casino ... let see ... Europa Casino:

It is the very same term used by Joyland Casino to steal a couple of million from a progressive winner a while back. The player won over $4m, casino invoked the rule, then only paid around $2m in a lump sum after much complaint from the player. But get this - Playtech paid the entire amount to the casino first! Presumably the casino owners pocketed the difference (thought to be a trust company owned by Teddy Sagi, a major Playtech shareholder).

This is all unsurprising though when you consider Joyland was part of the cPays/Affiliates United program (notorious for ripping off affiliates and players) before being bought by William Hill.

There are very few Playtechs that do not have this term - Bet365 and BetFred come to mind - maybe Betfair with their recent deal. This rule is one of the reasons that I regard most Playtech casinos as scum.

Can you believe I actually went looking for cash out limits at Cool Cat casino to see if they were higher than Majestic Comet and they indeed are at $2000 per week?!? (Not that they actually pay but I digress)...

But anyway Cool Cat has this award listed on their home page which I was shocked by... and sure enough here is an affiliate claiming that they are the best casino for USA players.

(Full disclosure, when I was young and naive I tried Gambling Wages but soon dropped them after I found out that 1. they don't pay players and 2. they doctor the stats so that they don't have to pay affiliates either.)

I'm sorry if this statement offends people, but seriously, Virtual Casino Group have proved beyond doubt to operate rogue casinos.

IMO the GPWA, eCOGRA and other places that issue seals, have an ethical responsibility to players (they are the life blood of this industry). It's about time they removed the blinkers and took a hard line on members who promote these clip joints.
