In my personal situation I am not affiliate, but still in iGaming, so it would be ok and not specific competition on. On the other hand, boosting authority even between us or anyone, gives advantages others competing in the same field. Usually google favours same niche backlinks due to traffic interest. If you think in a simple terms like a cooking blog that would benefit from iGaming article or vice versa, well it wont and that's also how google sees it.
