Legalization of Online Sports Betting Expected in Georgia

House Tourism and Economic Development Chairman of Savannah, Ron Stephans, filed a bill that authorizes the Georgia Lottery to manage an online sports wagering system.
The regulation is forced by the fact that according to some sports supporters, illegal sports betting is worth of $1.5 billion. The legalization will bring the cash straight to the legal market.

That is a strange state for legal sports betting. They have been so opposed to it over the years. Many more states are getting involved but doing it through the lottery, not the casinos?
