Land based casino fraud

I think it's strange how often people point to online gambling as a place to launder money, and rip off players.

Today I ran into two articles about land based gambling establishments with crime associated:

DA says contests at New York casino were fixed - BusinessWeek
Police: Casino Dealer OK'd Funny Money - Sacramento News Story - KCRA Sacramento

I was just noting this mentally to myself. I also remember a couple years back an accidental win at a land based casino took this dudes huge check they had already given him back (slot machine error) ....

Just trying to make us feel better about our industry.. there are crooks in every walk of life. hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Exactly! Hard to pass bad bills at an online casino. Sticking them in the disk drive doesn't work!

"On Tuesday, a 19-year-old man was arrested for running through Stateline Casino naked, claiming he is a Terminator who had traveled back in time from the future. The arresting officer was flagged down by a motorist, who saw a man running near the Nevada/California state line fully nude. The officer finally caught up to the man in front of Harrah’s, but the suspect ignored the deputy’s commands to stop and instead ran inside the casino. The police caught up with the man and subdued him with a taser, after he ran into an arcade where he startled children who were playing video games.

Apparently the man, Sean Stanley Smith, not actually a Terminator, later fussed up to ingesting marijuana and LSD. Paramedics took Smith the Barton Memorial Hospital for treatment, and later transported to Douglas County Jail where he was jailed on charges of indecent exposure and resisting a peace officer. But, will he “Be Back?”"

I've always wondered how many corporate contests that are run at casinos and OTB's and racetracks were rigged to benefit someone in the industry or associated with the sponsors.

Guruslash: yeah, I totally remember that one, too. California if I recall. The guy throws a sack of weed up on the blackjack table or something. (Apparently he felt kind of ballsy because it was "medicinal" weed. I forgot all about that one!) --- thanks for remembering!! lol -- I bet Daerea remembers that one... come to think of it... she must be on her way to the NY bonusguy convention. I hope we get a review!

Too bad no one had the camera rolling for the naked terminator from the future scene.
