Seems like a lot of consolidating is taking place in the industry, by Catana and other big companies.

Ladbrokes have now started closing affiliate accounts with no notice at all. Even if you didn't sign that contract that gave them 48 hours to just close your account, they're just doing it anyway.

Anything goes down in Tel Aviv #banditcountry #criminals

I hope that they close my account too, and pull out the knives they stuck in my back two years ago...

Ladbrokes can go wither away and die now like all the other criminals based down there who have thought they could rob affiliates for short term gain and in a year or two people would have forgotten and they'll be able to pick up some new fresh faced naïve affiliates at LAC.

This sort of behaviour will absolutely kill their affiliate program. I already know of some very big affiliates who haven't complained in public, but are slowly removing Ladbrokes completely from their sites.

Perhaps they don't care to be honest. They may just want to deal with Catena media from now on and no small guys.

When they come back to me in 2 years time crying that they want some home page space from me then they can go and take a running jump. Same has happened with so many programs based in Tel Aviv - they robbed me and dumped me when I was small, now I'm a very large affiliate they contact me every week, Skype me, phone me, email me, begging for space. Sorry guys, you rob me once and that's your last and only chance.

Also got my account closed and now getting a new account, what a waste of time from my side and their side.

I would tell them to stick their "new account" right royally up their own ar$e.

This is a classic Israeli affiliate program tactic- "oh, your account is massively negative, let me set you up a new account [so you're now motivated by starting from zero and we can rob you even more, sucker]" or "oh, we closed your account due to some terms and conditions we just made up, so let's start from scratch and set up a new account [while I rob all the players you referred for the last 12 years]"

Insane. Someone needs to go to jail at Ladbrokes for this.

Keep in mind, they may be managed by Israelis. However, they have a UK based business. Easy to file against them in the UK.

People should start taking Ladbrokes to court over this. Basically the premise of forcing a new contract on people with 48 hour shut down terms, and if you don't sign it they shut you down anyway wouldn't stand up in court. It would be judged that there would need to be some amount of goodwill in negotiating such harsh new terms.

Either way, Ladbrokes would settle out of court rather than go through all the hassle of legal proceedings and the cost and effort involved. Believe me, I've done it myself. It's sometimes worth just settling out of court.

If Ladbrokes were hit by 50 or so small claims then this would be way too much effort for them to pursue. It costs very little for a claimant like an affiliate to raise a matter in the Small Claims Court -

See more about the process here. It's very simple, you just submit a claim online and they have to then deal with it, or ignore it. If they ignore it it's likely a judge will call a default judgement on it and you'll win anyway.
https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money/overview

I did this with William Hill when they dropped my rev share to 5% and introduced that rule. They settled out of court for over 5000 GBP.

I'd encourage anyone to raise this and claim for lost future earnings from their x players referred. Put a value on each player and multiply it by the number of players. Say that Ladbrokes changed their terms and conditions that you signed up to, and the working relationship is now so tarnished that it cannot be repaired, therefore Ladbrokes have to compensate you for loss of earnings.

I'll be raising my claim today.

Ironically, if I set up a web site promising to cut people's bills in half, charging them $50, and sending them a pair of plastic scissors, I'd be arrested for deception/fraud. Where as these BIG Plc's etc., etc., can scam, lie cheat and essentially defraud affiliates, and sweet FA happens to them.

Edit:
@footballaffiliate - The UK small claims, I'm guessing this is only open to UK residents?

I've used it before. My understanding is that it is open to overseas residents as well, but you need a UK address for correspondence.

Likewise you can claim against a company that is based overseas but does business in the UK, providing they have a UK address for you to serve the papers to.

Anyone had their Ladbrokes account suspended following not signing their BS contract? They also reduced our Coral commission to 0%. Expected nothing more from these Israeli thieves.

Had them set to 0% temporarily, which has now been rectified. I haven't signed the contracts. Discussions are ongoing but it is a long, slow and arduous process trying to deal with people who can't or won't communicate. Ultimately I still hold some hope that things can be resolved as they have promised, but the small claims court remains a realistic and increasingly likely option.

Do they work with Ladbrokes? Can't imagine. It's not converting, bad retention and Catena is mainly focused on casino instead of Sportsbetting.

Ladbrokes put my account at 0%, while they're sending me offers to push. I've send them a mail, which will be followed by an official letter.

Very dissapointing from these operators given the fact that they are both very popular in the UK and a lot of affiliates are already doing business with them. Let's hope that they will reconsider their position because they dont want to end up blacklisted from affiliates like other programms
