Italy is tightening financial controls on online gambling, introducing stricter requirements for deposits, withdrawals, and electronic wallets.

Under a resolution published by the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) on October 22, all gambling transactions must be traceable, with payment methods clearly identifying both the sender and recipient.

Withdrawals will only be permitted to verified accounts belonging to players, while cash withdrawals through physical gaming outlets (PVRs) are prohibited.

Operators must also maintain separate transaction records and comply with anti-money laundering requirements. Existing eligible alternative payment instruments can remain operational until March 31, 2027, subject to certification.
