Is anyone still actively trying to use +1?

Is anyone really still trying to promote there site via Google's +1 or encourage there users to +1 their sites?

I don't think users really care about it, that's what my stats reflect.

I have a +1 button next to a twitter button and FB like button, I have a several hundred FB and Twitter likes and adds, I have two +1s.

I think I'm going to remove the +1 button as, well, its pointless.

FB and twitter are much more popular I agree, but I'd still try to get as many google +1 votes as I can because I think it's an important ranking factor in the serps.

I don't have any social media buttons. I tried a long time ago, but no one clicked on anything lol

Yeah... Everyone keeps saying it will become something later, I don't see it catching on. The only real people who use it are marketers, I have seen very few real 'customers' use it in any circles (no pun intended). . Per googles advice, 'build a site for the user' the users are not very interested in this feature.
