Just bought a domain name which I was really to surprised to see that it was still available. It was 20 characters long and then plus .com. Is that too long and that is why its not taken or did I just got lucky?

20 characters is a bit long.. but its not too long. It really depends on the name.

I would advise you to go for short domain names and create a brand instead. I think lcb.org is a good example.

i think it is better to have long keyword domain what is ranked, comparing with short what is lost in millions of keyword pages...

Yeah, trying to way the good against the bad here. But considering I get three keywords into the domain name, my conclusion is that I should go for it. In a less competitive business I could aim on creating a good brand instead but in the casino business I figure that is not gonna cut it.

I think it's quite long but not too long. You might find it a little bit difficult to optimize your blog's URLs in the future. However, if your domain already includes important keywords, it's great.

Honestly, I dont think it's going to make any real difference. I would go for something brandable as suggested instead of some generic spam-like domain name.

Is a domain name with important keywords not gonna make a difference? Surely it will though no?

so you feel it is better to do a branded domain name rather than to aim for the keyword in the domain name?

Aim for:

- Branded domain for your web site
- Keyword in the domain if it fits well
- A name that visitors will remember

I'm not a fan of branding where you invent a new word and use it to brand your site.
I think its better to create a brand name that easily describes what your site is about.

I think EMD's are still hyper-relevant. You still see plenty of garbage websites that rank presumably mainly because of EMD, because their website's SEO and structure really doesn't justify their strong positions in the SERP's.

I'd go for a one money keyword + funky word that has a ring to it. It would be short enough, have partial keyword and can still be brandable.
