Hi all,

How odd this is.

Im currently only promoting 16 casinos but still check stats for sites i no longer promote and somehow im getting clicks for them even though i have no links anywhere on the net for them???

Infact i guarantee i have no active links around for them.

How could this be? are they trying to make me feel im getting hits in order to promote more?

You can also get clicks due to google cache.

Hello Roey,
Something like this has happened to me before. It's possible that a black hat scrapper has scraped your site (or part of it) and left the affiliate links in the content. You might want to check around to see if your old content with links to these programs you no longer promote is out there somewhere else.

Good luck!
Adrian

It's not so bad, just a little time consuming. Take any of your old content, and place it in the google seach box to see what sites come up. If you don't have any of your old copy you can go to the "Way Back Machine" to see an older version of your site: Internet Archive: Wayback Machine

The question is what do you do if you find someone has scrapped your site. Well, most of the time I found it's not worth spending that much time worrying about it. You can always file a report with google to get the offending pages removed: https://support.google.com/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=1114905&page=ts.cs

Again, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Make a report and then keep moving forward.

I would say LPC is most likely correct.. This has happened to me a few times, someone stole a few pages of content for their site... But left my aff links in place.

It sounds like those are the most likely explanations, the old cached version of your site is generating clicks, or someone has copied parts of your site with the affiliate tracking codes left as-is.

Hopefully if it is the latter you manage to generate some signups.
