Hey all,

This is another of our new AGD Roundtable Discussions. If you aren't aware, this section will hold a Roundtable discussion about once per month. We ask all members and affiliate managers to join in the discussion and make your thoughts known.

Roundtable Discussion: How should AGD structure the forums?

We are considering a revamp of the forum area of AGD. Currently, all programs are listed under the 'Casino Affiliate Programs' forum area. This area may 'feel' a bit cluttered.

My own thoughts on revamp:

Create separate sections called:

1. AGD Certified Affiliate Programs
2. Predatory Affiliate Programs
3. Blacklisted / Rogue Affiliates Programs

This would allow affiliates to see the certified programs first and go no furthur if they chose not to.

Additionally, it would give a Blacklist area for casino programs like Grand Prive/Villa Fortuna Affiliates. This will ensure that all affiliates know immediately not to promote this group.

Please weigh in on this issue, we would appreciate thoughts by both affiliate managers as well as affiliates themselves. This is a discussion we should ALL take part in for the betterment of the industry.

I'd always tend to shy away from words like "blacklist" and "rogue" myself as sometimes a) you just don't know who you are dealing with and b) it's a judgement where I would always prefer to offer "guidance" I prefer terms like "not recommended" and similar.

Thank you - great advice. Followup question: How would you deal with a place like Grand Prive / Villa Fortuna? They definitely won't be certified, but is Predatory good enough? Might be too strong according to above

What??

Call them ultra rogue. They stole affiliate money. It's much worse than simply having predatory terms.

I think using all of those keywords are somewhat important. Maybe you want to have a "not recommended" listing but I think you should still keep the blacklisted and rogue keywords around. You want other webmasters who might want to see if their programs are rogue(s) or not so perhaps by searching or doing their own research they might find this site (a valuable resource) and get all the answers they were looking for.

In my eyes blacklisted/rogue/predatory is almost the same = "use at your own risk" lol.

It might be a good idea though to create main forum categories and move the programs into these categories...(like: aff-friendly section, etc.)

It is not the same listing than the one on the homepage, and I think this other page (Casino Affiliate Program Terms Tracked) should get an own menu. It's hard to find it.

I think strong language is okay - maybe preferred. Easy to spot the good ones and the bad ones. I think affiliates need something they can easily reference, and make no mistakes. The more affiliates that use AGD, the more those programs will want to change their terms to something more friendly.

Perhaps there should be another category for places like Grand Prive -- I mean if a program is taking your $$ outright like that.

We really need a strong warning with some of these programs to be honest, not sure if rogue is what needs to be used as Simmo said but maybe something like for Grand Prive you can use something like "not recommend" list with a sort of ratings system. You can use different levels of ratings?

What about "dishonest"? Also it seems as if the first CAP audit is going to announce some dodgy going ons. So if programs were found guilty of shaving either at CAP or by the APCW they should probably migrate to that section as well. It complicates things though. Formerly AGD only was interested in T&C the whole honest/dishonest thing adds an extra dimension.
