In short, it all depends on the user query. More precisely, on the user intention behind the query. If the intention is related to play/demo mode, Google is shaping the SERPs towards matching that. For general queries like [slot name] + slot, many of the sources in the SERPs feature demo/free play mode pages. There is also an additional aspect – higher user engagement that correlates with those types of pages.

If we take a random example query such as [Gates of Olympus] slot, the knowledge graph extracted from the content of the top SERPs has notable correlated nodes such as FREE, PLAY & DEMO.

I haven't noticed any major changes yet, but maybe it hasn't been that long.
