As UK players now need to age verify before they can access a free play game ( as of the 7th May ) what are anybody’s thoughts regarding this.

I feel this is a worthy topic as there are several free play affiliate sites still offering games without any age ID at all. Would any affiliate managers be prepared to comment on the subject? In the eyes of the UKGC if a casino is advertised and benefiting from a free play site that is offering slots to the UK without any age verification process, then they are in breach of their license.

A quick look on google will show you many are still doing this. Is it worth a heavy fine for that traffic? Would love to hear thoughts on this.

It's just plain wrong if some are allowed to carry on as usual whilst others are told to stop. I know many programs focus on the bigger sites because those are the ones that are more likely to attract the attention of the ukgc, but still.

Then again, Im not convined demo games are of much use when it comes to converting. Those that actively seek up demos are usually the kind of player that has an account everywhere and only makes bonus deposits. That's what I imagine anyway. Same with slots reviews in general.

Yes you could be right, but there must be reasonable conversions otherwise those free play sites wouldn’t have added age verification.

It would be nice to get a response from an aff manager if any see this? All the big casinos are plastered across a few of the big free play sites who are still not in line with legislation. Is it just ok to not follow this then?

A couple of weeks back there was uproar on another forum of affs using non gamstop casinos as a keyword. This of course is despicable behaviour and was rightly mentioned but it isn’t against the law. Offering free play to the UK without an age ID is, yet it goes unmentioned on any forum :/

I don't personally believe this has to be true. Not from my experience anyways. How would you measure this? It's very hard. I just try to imagine what kind of players it attracts. Personally, I don't believe it's high value players and I wouldn't go through the hassle of adding age verification. Players can just go to Slotsmillion if they want to try new games, or any other casino. A better option (again, my opinion) would be to geotarget or just stick with images.

Do you have any examples of such sites? I might be able to push managers to take action. You can pm me if you want.

By the way, a site that is not actively targeting UK players, would they still have to remove demo games? If not, what prevents a uk player from visiting those sites?

I've tried to go to your profile but no joy being able to PM you, I don't see an option.
It doesn't matter if a site is targeting UK players or not, a UK citizen should not be able to access a free play game without firstly verifying their age.

Has this been confirmed? If so, pretty messed up that the UKGC can decide for the rest of the world what to do. What does a Swedish or Danish affiliate site have to do with the UK, especially if it's not actively targeting UK players.

Ah sorry, I've misunderstood what you meant in your previous post. No other aff sites can still offer free play to other GEOs, just not from the UK. I would imagine though that in the near future others will follow suit and restrict free play slots.
