A total of 24 operators have reportedly applied for licences in Finland’s new regulated gambling market. The country is preparing to open online casino gaming and sports betting to private companies from July 2027, ending its long-standing monopoly system.
State-owned Veikkaus is expected to retain control over lottery products and certain retail segments. The strong number of early applicants shows growing international interest in Finland’s future market.
