Duelbits Affiliate Program: One-Sided Admin Fee Issue

Hi everyone,

Over the last ten months, we’ve promoted Duelbits on a 40% revenue share deal based on net gaming revenue (NGR). After consistent negative results, we noticed something unusual: a 30% admin fee is taken only when the player loses, and 0% when the player wins.

Here’s what that looks like in practice using activity from the same player on two different days:

DayPlayer ResultAdmin FeeNGRCommission (40%)
1-$100 (player loss)30%$70$28
2+100 (player win)0%-$100-$40

Despite the player finishing breakeven over the two days, the affiliate is -$12. This configuration has a huge impact over months of play and hundreds of players. For reference, this is our Net Cash (Deposits - Withdrawals) and our NGR for the 10 months:
  • Net Cash: + $98,522
  • NGR: -$21,415
  • Commission: -$8,493
We've tried to address this with Duelbits since March, but we haven't been able to for the past four months. First, they said this was "industry practice" and their counteroffer was increasing our deal from 40% to 45%, so earning a higher percentage of a negative NGR.

We created an article where we explain in more detail the situation (we are not able to add it here as we needed to have at least 20 posts, but if you search for "duelbits affiliate program review" you will find it easily) and would like to know if someone had a similar situation and help us address this with Duelbits.

Thank you,
VIP-Grinders Team

Thank you @VIP-Grinders for noticing this. That was exactly my question one month ago.
In case a player win 100 and withdraw, then deposit again the exact amount the next day the NGR is negative due to admin fees only on positive amounts.
While this is a common practice as Duelbits mentioned, this does not mean it's fair as well.
If your players deposit and withdraw a lot then you always end up negative.
That on the other hand, making promoting the brand not profitable for you.
I'm not sure if applying admin fees on negative amounts would make admin fees sustainable tho.
The only solution to this is dropping the maximum RS from operators to 25-30% without any admin fee.

Hi @Alkis, thanks for the reply

We don't consider a one-sided admin fee "common practice" as we work with over 50 casino operators and we've individually tested all for admin fee calculation, both when player wins and also when lose, and Duelbits is the only case where a one-sided admin fee is applied.

Two-sided admin fee is the norm, and applying one-sided creates a situation like the one we described, where a $98k Net Cash turns into a -$21k NGR, which is not realistic, standard or fair.

All the partners i work with have it one sided to be honest! This is why i thought it is common practice.
How it works when there is an admin fee on negative amounts?

If a player deposit 1000 and withdraw 1000 in a month then balance is 0?
