On the other side of the stats I have had one month where players made a profit of about 20,000. Think any of those players returned the next month?

Not on your nelly!!!

Haha yes. Every week is a learning curve.

Having well paid full time jobs mean we dont need to earn anything from the site and everythung that we earn goes straight back into the site. So the main issue is who can you really trust? And validation for all the hard work.

Brilliant thread. Most of the casino listings that I removed many months ago are mentioned here as being among the worst performers. So it's not just my traffic :)

I had a winner all 12 months of 2015 at AE. Luckily the deposits exceeded the withdrawals except for 1 month.

Can I ask what everyone's thoughts are as to WHY some are just not performing?

Do you think they are skimming players, clicks, registrations?

Are the brands all tapped out?

Do the cookies not work properly or is it that the super affiliates or pop up spammers own all the cookies?

Or is it just that the brands are not appealing to players?

It seems to be a theme that a lot of groups that shaft players seem to be the better performers for affiliates. Thats just not the way it should be.

All VERY good questions... to which I really WISH I knew the answers, but I don't :(
My best guesses:
1. I honestly have not got a clue.
2. Extremely unlikely - but I suppose anything is possible.
3. Possibly for the "big boys": I always used to do quite well with Lads & 32Red, but the other big bookies have been a struggle.
4. Like question 2, very difficult to tell, so who knows?
5. Seems to be the case for some (e.g. MrGreen): Casinos who have pretty decent SUBs getting no/little action...
6. Don't know about that; I don't knowingly promote any who "shaft players".

Thanks KK. Glad an experienced affiliate is as confused as I am :)
I only promote casinos I play at myself and favour my favourites which is why it is sometimes so strange.

My site isnt big enough to make any judgements but reading this thread makes it all the more confusing. Those that should do well don't and vice versa.

Sometime it's natural. Some casinos are good for slots players but not appealing to blackjack ones - it might be the bonuses, the focus, or just something in the look and feel of the site.
I doubt that the non-performing casinos shave players. You need to get players first and then shave :)

This thread is great source of info, but of course you still need to compare stuff for yourself. Btw, also the way different casinos placed on your site has huge influence.

I'll just speak for myself and looking back over time.

Some programs don't reach wanted result but in many cases it is because I don't do enough. Seems there is always something I can do to increase the volume of new players, I just don't always take or make the time and effort to do so.

Usually the program I have a good monthly income get the most attention from me.

And this is why programs need to concentrate on CONVERSIONS instead of implementing QUOTAS. Convert the players and we will send you mad traffic. Simple as that.

I would 100% agree with this.. We tend to build up a base of players with the programs we feel are converting the best and it kind of steam rolls from there. A lot of my best converting casinos are the ones I started with, but how many reviews do I have of them, and the number pages they have been added to over the years surely has a lot to with conversions.

I hate thinking about the number of programs that have shut down over the years.. If it wasn't for that I would be making 2x what I am now.. It seems my number of 'good converting programs' is getting smaller and smaller..

As far as Quotas, those make me afraid to promote them or even give them a chance to become converting casinos in the first place.

Quotas have been around as long as I have. Beginning with way back when " The Sunny Group " was around. You needed to have 3 active players in order to be paid.

Later it started to become more active with other programs. I decided to only work with a few programs because I can only send so many new players per month. For me its easier to send players to a few groups I know I can depend on instead of working with the many programs available.

In the end, the downside is for new programs that come around....I just don't work with them.

Worst is gowild which use to do ok until they changed affiliate software

I agree with guard dog about quota's, we send the players and get sign ups. We depend on the casino to convert the players!!
Then you will have casinos change promotion and ask why conversions are down (especially when they go to a less attractive promotion).

I could be wrong but I would imagine trying to convert affiliate signups aren't a top priority due to the customer acquisition cost.
