Hi there,

For almost 3 years now I run several mobile and regular websites about mobile gambling. I wondered if any AGD members are also active in this field or have plans to start in the near future. I'm happy to share my experiences on programs, marketing and seo and I would like to learn from yours. Just give a shout!

Welcome to AGD, casinoplanet.

I know their are webmasters here who have begun to look at this market. I have considered it for the past several months but have not yet pulled the trigger on some of my ideas.

Would love to hear your opinion of the market - it IS the wave of the future, so anyone not looking into it will miss the boat entirely.

Thanks Guard Dog!

From 2008 on, every year was predicted to be THE year for mobile. Everyone was waiting for the big bang, ........which didn’t came. Looking at present reports, a more gradually (but nevertheless massive) growth of mobile is to be expected. Also a recent study showed the big differences between mobile and online gamblers. Mobile gamblers tend to spend less, play more irregularly and are less loyal to a gambling program than their online counterparts. The good news is that the market is huge. In 2010 worldwide more than 380 BILLION people are active in mobile gambling. And as we know, many a little makes a mickle! Time will tell if this behaviour is about to change in the near future, but I think mobile gambling will remain a very profitable niche market, which will get very big within the next 2 – 3 years.

My advice to webmasters is to step in now! Advertising is still cheap and competition is far less than online. Also develop a mobile website to target your audience on their mobile phone. Most mobile gambling programs support signing up from mobile devices. In my experience especially this option makes CTR and ROI much higher than online.

380 billion out of 7 billion people are active in mobile gaming ;D

I tried to get some mobile players, but IMO most of them just want to play for free and won't spend money. My stats were something like 1 real player out of 35-40 sign ups...

Sorry for my over-enthousiasm :) it should be million instead of billion!

You're right about the depositors. Because of this it is very important to target the audience as narrow as possible. In my experience search engine marketing with very specific keywords combined with demographic targeted ad campaigns work best. Mobile ad networks like Mojiva offer age and gender targeting.
Juniper Research expects that total gross wager for mobile gambling will reach $48billion (now the b is correct :)) in 2015. That's an awful lot of money and I think it's definitely worth a try to get a piece of that big cake.

Without necessarily revealing the specifics, how well are you doing with it? Are you doing average or are you "killing it"?

I've been reading about mobile marketing not just for gambling but for all of internet marketing. So far it hasn't been conclusive at all. Just think of the frauduct MobileMonopoly and how horrible the reactions have been to it.

I'll invest in it when it's proven to work on a big scale.

I make a nice additional income with it, although I still can't quit my regular job yet. I have to admit revenue varies a lot from month to month. A study showed there are major differences between mobile and online gamblers. Never the less I had some players spending several k.

There also is a cookie issue. Since many phones don't store them, only revenue will be generated when signing up immediately after being redirected.
But advertising costs are very low, UK traffic from €0.05 to €0.30, so you don't have to invest big.

All in all don't expect to become rich in a short period of time, but I think it's definitely worth a try. And if you wait untill mobile really goes mainstream, you might be too late.

I only see clicks from mobile programs : players visit your site for info and type in the url on their mobile for which ofcourse you get no compensation.
Programs are not working for me so far.

Aren't people more willing to click a link than to type the url?

Mobile

You need to target smart phones only and leave out the WAP phones.

We thought about it but have not done anything about it , when i want to gamble I like to sit at home and be comfortable.I do not consider playing video poker on my blackberry to be comfortable lol

Thanks for your contribution. It shows exactly that mobile gambling webmasters must not entirely focus on online gamblers. A study showed that mobile gamblers are more likely to be "recruted" from the mobile (gaming)scene.

mobile games are interesting but for me it's not applicable... i don't want to bring my gambling wherever i go. I prefer playing it on my PC rather than through my mobile.

There are some problems regarding mobile casino affiliate programs.

no players tracking: PlazaWin, GigaSlot, William Hill, Spin Palace Mobile

no payments: Zero36 Mobile Casino

to casinoplanet: nice site by the way, do you know that Crazy Mobile just redirects to All Slots?

Try thinking outside the box
Good idea, but as for me WAP sites are dooing OK for the mobile casino players. But I would try to thinking outside the box. Do you have any suggestions of where to start?
