I happened to notice some casino sites are using social media tools to promote their own site but I am not sure how affiliate tracking is affected when players visit these links (I assume these do not track)?

e.g. xxhttp://www.goldenrivieracasino.com/index.asp half page down

sorry, I think it was just my avast acting odd.
I tried your free-online-slots site again and avast is not triggering any warning.
sorry for the false alarm.

I'm sorry to have to report that I also got the virus warning while visiting free-online-slots.com

I didn't get the warning at all while visiting the site with Chrome, but as soon as I visited it using Internet Explorer 9 it gave the warning.

I had nothing else open in IE, so it was definitely your site causing the warning.

Whether it's a real virus or just a false positive, I can't say for sure... but I do find Avast to be reliable and almost never has false positives, so it's definitely worth checking to see if your site has a problem.

Here is the full warning :

Process: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
Infection: URL:Mal

The following site says that it detected a problem on your site, it says the problem is not detected right now but was detected within the last 30 days :

AVG Threat Labs | Safety Ratings | Web Site Reports

If you click the 'show more about threat activity' it says it detected 'Blackhole Exploit Kit', which is currently the #1 threat on all websites.

I looked at the page source and couldn't see anything suspicious, but apparently this type of problem can happen through infected php code so the visitor wouldn't see it in the page source, or it can be a hacked .htaccess, or one of the WordPress files (especially one of the javascripts) could have been replaced with a hacked version.

Here is somebody else dealing with the 'Blackhole Exploit Kit' on their WordPress installation :

WordPress › Support » Blackhole Exploit Kit: How to remove it?

When I've had similar problems in the past I prefer to pay experts that have experience in finding all the hidden hacked files, otherwise it's likely to happen again if you miss something. I use the service provided by configserver.com here :

http://configserver.com/cp/exploit.html

But even if they remove all the hacked files, there still may be back-doors if you have vulnerable WordPress themes or plugins.

Also regarding your initial question - no I don't think there's a problem with the social links stealing players, because your cookie has already been placed on the visitor's computer when they first click through to the site, so even if they leave to visit the site's Facebook or Twitter profile, when they return to the main site and sign up later you should still be credited since your cookie is still there... hopefully.
