Does anyone else get a shit load of affiliate managers contacting them?

if so how do you respond to them all and do you think I should remove my contact details from sites?

Also how do you choose which ones to work with if any?

welcome to the world of igaming affiliate marketing, this won't stop. your details are passed around and sold, although no one will admit it. i signed up to a few programs some years back with a purposely registered email address and only used it for that, within a day I was getting spammed with casino offers, says it all.
personally depends what mood im in, sometimes I just ignore and delete and sometimes i ask them a few questions on how they got my address and that usually shows the real attitude of the manager/program.
my general rule of who im working with is i go and hunt them down and spamming me hardly ever works

It's annoying but yes, happens constantly and like Aidan says your details get handed around.

As a general rule of thumb if we receive contact for a program we don't work with via an email that it shouldn't come through (eg: one we give out to programs we work with or one tied to a payment method) it gets ignored and future emails from that address go straight to the bin.

If it comes through legit channels then we'll usually reply, but 90% come through the sold email route.

The Stone, unfortunately this is part of my role as an affiliate manager. I like to think my approach is a little different however. I would say that this is the worst part of the job for any Aff Manager, as the response rate is usually low and it's a long and tedious job if done correctly (one by one, not a mass generic email blast). But when you do get a reply, it's a lovely feeling. All warm and fuzzy. :D

My advice on how to deal with these kinds of requests, look at what brands they offer, if they're of interest drop a reply back. If it's not of interest, drop a reply back with a quick reason. If the same manager or group keep emailing you after giving your reason, then block them and choose not to work with them. You may also like to ask where they got your contact details from if it's not from your site.

However, addressing what Aidan said, I am sure this happens in some circles however. I don't see it as any kind of benefit to purchasing any online list, it just causes that feeling of unrest. You won't find me using those kind of tactics and you certainly won't find us selling them either.

Yes, I get a bunch of mails daily. Sometimes from programs that mail me directly on an address, I never gave them.

I ask them where they got it. Bullshit answers like I found it on the net means a single ticket blacklist. Same thing for brands selling my details.

Requests from the contact form, I am ok with. As long as the affiliate manager did make some effort. I hate mails of programs that are already listed or from brands that don't even accept GEOs the website is targeting.

Maybe I should just switch off my contact form then and rely on conferences, do you think that would be a good idea?

depends how useful you find having a contact form. as much as the spam can be a pain in the arse it doesn't bother me too much, spam from other affiliates is a different matter!!
at least those bellends from 3gadz have gave it a rest for a while. martyn, i think the buying and spamming email lists is more common in those areas that have very aggressive sales tactics, mainly Israel, although like everything there is good and bad in all walks

How would genuine affiliate managers looking for business reach you? Or to put it another way, how would you reach the ones that you're not aware of yet?

Conferences, emailing the casinos I want to partner with or I'll switch it back on when I need more partners.I've noticed loads sites don't have contact details. Everyone wins and it gets the blood sucking affiliate managers off my back.:)

How would a reader/visitor contact you? IMO not having a working contact form indicates that your site is not genuinely visitor orientated.

Just reply to the e-mails that are offering something of interest to you, and ignore all of the rest.
Many of the e-mails are just templates that the affiliate managers are using to reach a large group
of affiliates. We receive the same e-mails over and over again from affiliate programs, and we even
receive solicitations from affiliate programs that are already listed on our web sites. They did not
even take the time to check out the web sites to see if they are listed before sending out the e-mails.

The best way to work with affiliate programs is through Skype. Once you are promoting a casino,
you connect with the affiliate manager via Skype to deal with whatever issues come up. It keeps
things much more organized, and you don't have to deal with too many solicitations via Skype.

Maybe ask them if they are attending a Up and coming conference and arrange a appointment...

I’d rather speak to somebody personally face to face than via Skype or through emails

Exit Simple.
Just answer the letters and check the manager through the major sites. For example, through the same dog, LСB or ThePogg.
If the reviews are normal, start working.
