Hey all,

This was something that started 11/21. I notified certain affiliate managers of the issues. Some looked into it, others tried to 'explain it away'.

The issue is that the Rival Affiliate Database (Affiliate Emails) seems to have been compromised starting on 11/21. After that time I discussed/notified Rival of this issue. The leak was found and corrected as I understand it.
T
However - he email database is still being used as I noted this morning receiving more casino spam to my separate inboxes (I have an email for every affiliate program for this purpose).

The emails are specific, including my full name... the email addresses are not ones that could be 'figured out'. Currently it forwards to a google groups image:

xxxhttp://groups.google.com/group/ckchoxcd?pli=1

Which in turn leads you to: xxxhttp://www.bringdeal.net/

Which.... surprise of all surprises.... leading to 'Gold VIP Club' casino.

Don't forget... Gold VIP is the one who RECRUITED black hat webmasters to work with them on syndk8 and even was a major sponsor over there :(

Not a good group to deal with... This spamming outfit also, somehow, lifted my casino player account email (a long time ago) from both Platinum Play and English Harbour.

Anyway - get ready for a bunch of spam to your affiliate emails if they haven't already been bombarded. And, no, I am not the only affiliate who has gotten these... my guess is that your spam filter has probably caught it already.

This is Rival-Wide, BTW... .ALL my Rival Affiliate Account emails were spammed.

When will it end!!!

If people would just relax, business will happen. Forcing things down people's throats is not helping. It hurts more than helps!

Thanks for the response to this... I feel it is a major issue that the Rival database apparently was compromised, but nobody truly seems to care much.

The spam is sporadic and has stopped again, but the last round came 2 weeks after the initial barrage.

Yes I received the same rubbish to my account as well. I figured it has to be a leak from the Rival db because it addressed me by name. It was sent to an undercover email address that I only used to sign up there. This is serious. If they can't take care of their aff db how can they take care of their player emails?

King Dice / Gold VIP Club Spam

Well, it's about the 2 week time period and another round of spam mails go out to Rival Affiliate Emails.

It's fairly ridiculous and is sent using fake live.com email addresses to. This email is for 'King Dice Casino' which (of course) = 'Gold VIP Club' casino, the biggest casino spammer on the internet:

email said:
.hmmessage P { margin:0px; padding:0px } body.hmmessage { font-size: 10pt; font-family:Verdana } Greetings Andrew Mueller

We have a variety of different games that will not only wet your appetite but keep you coming back again and again.

Happy 2009!!!

So - IF YOU GET THESE SPAM MAILS, check the email address and you will find it is one tied to one of your Rival Affiliate Programs. I certainly wish someone over there could tell me with absolute certainty that no more leaks are going to happen!!!

Wanted to confirm my receipt of all these emails.

I was moving towards rivals for a while since they accepted US and had some interesting stuff at their casinos. I wonder what they mean by having 'corrected' the problem.

I have a good idea what they mean by that. It's difficult to say, though, without 100% proof. I would say more, but don't really want to put information out there that isn't verified by Rival themselves.

I was under the assumption it was an RTG program and not Rival.

Here's why:

The google group in the spam below goes to a King Dice landing page.
When mousing over the King Dice gif it shows smartdownload which is usually RTG (as does all the other spams I've been getting) in the staus bar. It also shows goldvipclub.com in the status bar and that casino is RTG. The affiliate id is 1127 if anyone wants to track it down.

Here is the full spam I received today.

Dear xxx xxx

Did the Rival list get stolen and sold to these clowns?

I'm really getting sick of the spam at this point.

Happy New Year Everyone!

The casino is GoldVIP Club. That is an RTG casino. That is what is being spammed. This casino is well known for recruiting spammers to promote them.

The email list came from being signed up to a Rival Affiliate Program. It was a breach somewhere in their system and now anyone who promotes ANY Rival affiliate program is being spammed by the GoldVIP (King Dice) spam.

The list comes from Sloto that's the only Rival I ever signed up with. I wonder what that leak was exactly? The fact remains that now that the emails are in the wild they will get beaten to death by those spamlords.

Don't blame slotocash, it's the Rival backend that had the leak. All affiliate programs at Rival use that backend.

I am soooo tired of this spam!

Everyone is very tired of this spam :( The group of spammers have several databases of information and are using those databases to spam the King Dice spam.

The database mentioned in the beginning of this post was just the latest database they received. The problem with this group is that some casinos decide this is a good way to market their casinos... the group then has those emails for eternity and you and I pay the price.

Rival is not the only place where the database information was used. There are many other cases.

This Spam email $hit continues to go on daily from this Rogue bunch, even as of today...so my suggestion is why don't we all band together and Spam the "Gold VIP Club" Casino right back and overload their servers on a daily basis until they finally quit this $hit !!

That's exactly what I do every time I receive one of these emails...I email "Gold VIP Club" casino at all four of their email addresses that they have listed on their site there.

Its probably a side which not many people realise, but lists from
playtech
microgaming
rtg

have been stolen in the past.. different groups for sure. But it looks like no system is safe.

Next time we're at a conference, find the head RTG guys, and go have a friendly chat about one of the licensees incessant spamming.

RTG has shown over the years that they do not give a rats A$$ about their licensees spamming and they will never do anything about it...why should they, all they care about is licensing their software.

What your suggesting isn't much different than a DoS (Denial of Service) attack.

Although I know very little about networking issues & even less about who controls what, I've always wondered in such a case would the main upstream provider for Costa Rica be an International Telco?

Maybe this sound pretty far fetched but I'm a firm believer (especially in this type of instance) to give anything a go.

Is it worth enlisting as many webmasters as we can find that are being affected by this spam and contact the upstream provider?

I'm about as sick to the back teeth as everyone else is of the SPAM.

At this point I'll entertain just about anything shy of a DoS attack to get this problem addressed.

Cheers

:)

I think that it's time that we all seriously consider this as they are never going to stop until something like this wakes their A$$ up.;)
